I have been engaged now for 5 months and I am getting married in 3 weeks. My boss has never said anything about my engagement! She knows I'm getting married in 3 weeks, other people in the office talk to me about it and even in a meeting the other day someone mentioned something in passing right in front of her! It's really strange! Maybe I'm just being weird about it I guess, but I still think she's being weird!

    Yea, seems wierd.  Wonder why she's so mum about it, is she a strange person to start with?

    Did your manager perhaps get divorced not that long ago?  Maybe the subject of weddings is a sore one for her.

    That does seem really weird. 
    I'm having a longer engagement (it's been almost a year already) and my boss is kinda weird about it too.  She will ask me about wedding plans and when I tell her something she says, you aren't getting married.  If you really wanted to get married, you would've done it by now.  So it irks me, but it's your boss so what are you going to really say.  I just smile and say, yeah when you see me strutting into your office in my dress, then you owe me!!!

    I work for a compnay of about 200 employees and I'm in HR, there are 4 of us in HR. I work the most directly with her of the 3 of us in HR under her. She has been married for almost 10 years and just had a bbay about a year and a half ago and she was really upset about that, never wanted kids. The only reason it bothers me is because our girl in payroll got married just over a year ago and everyone talked about it all the time, boss even gave payroll girl the entire week before her wedding off with pay! Oh well, doesn't really matter I guess, it just bothers me a little bit that she has never acknowledged that I'm getting married.
