October 2012 Weddings

25 days!

I said that driving in today, and FI said 'It getting really close!"

There aren't too many things I have left to do. We meet with preacher dude tonight to finish up pre-counseling and discuss the ceremony. Tomorrow my sister (MOH) and I try on our dresses and hopefully take them home. Thursday, I meet with the venue to go over finalizations and give them the last half of cost. Saturday, hair trials (my SD and I, my sister and her little girl whom is FG - OH and SD doesn't have pink hair anymore! She is back to her beautiful brunette with a pink streak and a purple streak), then shopping for a dress for SD to wear to the wedding. We will keep an eye out for something for my Mother to wear as well. I also have some form of Bachelorette party that evening, but we will see. There has been a bit of drama with some of those ladies (friends of FI) and if they need to call it off, I understand and am good with that.

Re: 25 days!

  • We'll all be so busy the next 3 1/2 weeks . . . it's going to fly.

I'm getting my hair cut (and possibly dyed) tomorrow night. Tomorrow is also our RSVP deadline. Still waiting on 30 some people - 26 or so of them FI's family (ah). Thursday night we have our final meeting with our DJ. Saturday night is hopefully my last dress fitting. It was too small and my seamstress is adding a little fabric. Then we both have off Monday for our final walk through at the venue with our caterer, to get the marriage license and to check out our hotel for the wedding night.

Holy cow! Does everyone feel this busy?!?!

  • I only have 25 days too!  Aaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Last night I spent hours finishing the centerpeices.  I'm hand-making wreathes filled with my grandfather's favorite plant in order to memorialize him in a really low-key way.

I've gotten the caterer mostly straightened out.  Talked to both venues till they probably consider running when they see me, and I'm hoping to get my programs this week.

All that's left is picking up my dress on the 20th, polishing the vows and timeline, making reception centerpeices, and holding my breath and holding on for dear life!

  • I can't believe it! It doesn't help that I keep looking at my work calendar and seeing that I only have two full weeks of work left! I took off the week before the wedding. I made a to do calendar and wrote tasks for each day. That's really helped me stay calm and focused.
