wedding vendor help??!!

I have sent messages to NUMEROUS local florists, photographers and musicians in the area but to no avail (with one exception).
Can someone give me a contact in the New ORleans areas that will respond to an inquiry??
Many thanks in advance....Im really disappointed in the customer service aspect of the participants
Thanks,
Gina

I'm in sales, so it drives me absolutely nuts when someone doesn't respond to my inquiry in a timely fashion. It's really poor form.

I'm CRAZY about customer service. I will admit that I've been incredibly (freakishly) lucky with all of my vendors thus far (knocking on wood). The following got booked because of their customer service and their competitve pricing:

    Photographer: Ardent Studios (Tim Pham)
    TIM@ARDENTSTUDIO.COM
Photography was the top priority to me. I stressed over the blogs and albums of every photographer in the vicinity for MONTHS. I finally narrowed it down to my top two choices: Tim and another talented photog. I went through each website with a fine-tooth comb. Tim's prices were 1/2 that of the other photog, but I wasn't focused on that at the time. This was one of the few decisions that had nothing to do with price. Both had beautiful work and both were incredibly responsive. I was torn. The other photog used a Nickleback song on their site. That sealed the deal for me. Tim was definitely the winner. I.HATE.Nickleback. I didn't want to work with anyone that could use their music to represent their brand. I know it's silly, and maybe even stupid, but it was the best decision I've made. Our engagement photos are magical...and I'm not easy to please. Tim is very laid back and has a great eye. He was open to my ideas and I let him run with his.

    Florist: Erin Steen
    ESTEEN123@YAHOO.COM
Love her! She's been amazing to me.

    Videography/DJ: Prodigy (Josh Enos)
    JOSH@PRODIGY-MG.COM
This guy goes WAY above and beyond. His prices are ridiculously good and his work is incredible. I've never heard him DJ, but I have total faith. I told him I felt like the venue needed some fun lights (after I originally said I didn't want "cheesy" lights) and he went and purchased a new system. And he hasn't charged me a penny more than what we originally discussed. I've seen his videography and it's truly lovely. I thought videography would not be in my budget after we paid for everything else, but he blew my mind with his talent and again with his prices.

Musician: I'm using one of my very best friends. He plays acoustic guitar. If you want his info, shoot me your email. He doesn't do it as a profession, but he can play anything. My ceremony playlist doesn't include one "normal" or traditional song and he's got them all ready to go. I'm so lucky. If you need a vocalist, Eric McCrary is amazing. I can get his info if you want (sadly, I can't use him as he was previously obligated).

    Other vendors I'm working with:
City Park (ceremony & reception) - April has been awesome! Everything about the place is gorgeous and the food is amazing. I went in thinking I would book Parkview Terrace if I booked anything. I had already requested the pricing for each venue and I felt like the Pavilion of the Two Sisters was more than we should pay. However, when we went to tour the space, my parents (the ones financing this shindig) insisted on the Pavilion. Both spaces are lovely, but we love the feel of the Pavilion.

Luminous Events (candles for ceremony) - Lisa is super easy to work with. From what I've seen, her work is lovely. I'll know more soon!

Haydel's (cakes) - This came with my package from City Park. I have worked with Celeste and Tonya and they are both incredible. I'm doing a smooth buttercream
cake...I'm really nervous about how it's going to turn out. I'll let you know. I'm even more nervous about the groom's cake (which I've yet to finalize).

Big Easy (photo booth) - Jaymie has been incredibly responsive and their prices are amazing. Seriously, the best I've found.

Hubig's (pies for wedding favors) - AMAZING! I love, love, love those people.

Cards & Pockets (invitations) - I have tried to be a DIY bride. Cards & Pockets is an awesome resource.

I've probably shared way too much, but I know this board has helped me more than I ever imagined.

Good luck! If you need any help, let me know.

We used Urban Earth for flowers, Soul Rebels Brass Band for our second line, and Marc Pagani Photography for photos.  Good Luck!

Using Elms Mansion for ceremony and reception venue, and Steve Randon for photography.  Both have been great.  For photographers, I also looked at Marc Pagani who I hear great things about and he will respond to you very quickly no matter the day or time (we just ultimately felt like Steve's style was more 'us').

I would give you more except that's about all I have booked so far!

I can sympathize with you about the lack of customer service though.  We went with Gambino's for our cake after we were just unable to get a meeting with someone at Sucre even after weeks of numerous phone calls and emails.  And, I have heard customer service horror stories left and right about vendors in the city...not sure what it is!!

The below vendors have been really super helpful and responsive:

    Florist - Christina O'Malley
    Photographer - Matthew Foster
    Videographer - Studio Vieux Carre
    Band - Groovy 7
Cocktail Hour/Second Line Band - Dr Jazz and the New Orleans Dixieland Sounds
Hair/Makeup - Jessica at Just Face It LLC

I've done so much by email and these were all really responsive, always getting back to me the same day or the day after.  Good luck!
