Bridesmaids' Gifts

I want to get my bridesmaids the LLBean tote bag since I think it's extremely versatile and everyone loves a tote bag.  They are receiving a necklace for the day, dress and hair paid were for.  I was going to stick in a beach towel and maybe a gift card or little personal item, but I wasn't sure if that was enough.  What is everyone else doing?

Re: Bridesmaids' Gifts

  • I think what you have planned is enough, but it's really a personal choice depending on a lot of factors, including your overall budget.

We stayed small with the gifts for the bridal party, but got them each something special that we know they'll love and hold onto for years to come. It's not the quantity (or $ value), it's the quality- in this case meaning the thought that went into the gift.

  • That's plenty; I'm doing charms and a little bracelet to put it on.

I would have done more but I hosted a birthday party for my FG and JBM, and got them both Coach purses after they agreed to be in the WP. I'm also paying for their hotel rooms from Wednesday through Saturday so I'm keeping the actual gift small and meaningful.

  • We did small gifts & a bottle of their favourite alcohol.......FBIL = Best Man socks, bottle of Jack, My brother = cufflinks and a bottle of vodka, etc.

  • I made cute bags and I am getting soap and lotions from Bath and Bodyworks.
    I also made cute bracelets.

  • I'm not a fan of the totes. I feel that a lot of brides give them. I got my girls acrylic keepsake boxes that are monogrammed. I also got them bracelets for the day of and a mirror compact. All of that went in the box along with a nail file. Something small, something for the day of, and something to remember the day and me.

But you know your girls better than us. Don't do too much. You've got a good list already.

I have 5 BM and totes would have been too expensive. I got each of them a picture frame with their initals and the wedding date so they can put a picture of me and her in it as something special.

  • I'm also not a fan of totes. Unless it's like a Coach clutch (the outlet online has then for about $30 a piece) I personally would fore-go a bag. I have gotten 3 from being a BM and I haven't used any of them!

  • I agree some totes may get tossed aside and never used. However, the LL Bean totes are really versatile and don't remind me of anything wedding. I think the girls will use those.

  • Instead of flowers my bridesmaids are walking down the alsie with clutches that are doubling as gifts. I am also putting a personalized letter in each.
  • i got these really pretty pearl rings from a seller on etsy that i'm giving them, they don't have to wear them day of, they are just classic and pretty.  I'm also going to give them a pair of flip flops in their fav color (summer wedding in FL!). Will probably add one more thing, bottle of nail polish or something cutsy and small.
  • I got my 5 girls clutch bags in their favorite colors and patterns, starfish/pearl/their hand stamped initial necklaces, a caramel beach themed apple, a card, and I'm paying for them to get their nails and toes done. My flower girl is getting a necklace and an apple.

  • I got some totes for my BMs which I had monogrammed. They also will each have a champagne toaster which has a peacock on etched glass, a pocket mirror with their name on it, pedicure & manicure, hair done, and for some their makeup done too.
  • I almost think I went overboard on my girls, although I didn't intend to. I initially just got them totes with their names on them and was going to fill them with some cute stuff but when i went to the mall for lotion i came across things remembered and ended up buying each of then a bracelet with an angel charm and i had their names and the wedding date engraved and on the back of the charm it says thank you.  My MOH got a nicer bracelet that I had engraved as well. I also got them each a small journal and a card for the totes. However, i started hearing through the grapevine some of the girls are complaining of the cost because its OOT, so now I am paying for their hair and makeup on the day of.
  • I think all of that sounds great!! I love a tote bag...especially if they're monogrammed! I actually considered doing that with my girls. Are you signed up for L.L. Bean's emails? They're always sending me 15% off coupon codes, so make sure you have one!

For my girls I'm giving them a monogrammed Tervis Tumbler and then getting them a cute pair of earrings that they can also wear on the wedding day if they want (I still need to find the earrings). I think that's it, but I might get them a little something else.
