Yay! Check!..and also...happy news!

Another check done! We now have a place for our next day breakfast! It's called Studebaker's in Stroudsburg PA. It's a pretty place but also really casual and laid-back with pictures of neat old cars everywhere. We're doing a breakfast buffet with a few stations added in. We're both really happy to be able to spend more time with our OOT guests the next day Smile

Oh....unrelated also...but for anyone who didn't catch my earlier post, FI finally got his answers. Acid reflux and gallstones. The negative is he needs to get his gallbladder out and surgery is surgery. The positive is that it's not a particularly rough surgery and it only has a week downtime (though it has to be unpaid for him because he used all his time off for the honeymoon). The acid reflux is apparently fairly slight and can be easily kept in check with Prilosec.

  • Congrats on both sets of news Nikki! I'm glad the issues with your FI weren't more serious than that. My stepdad and my aunt have both had their gallbladders removed and the surgeries were very minimally invasive. My aunt was up and moving around the next day.

  • Congrats on the breakfast - sounds like it will be really nice!

My sister had her gallbladder removed 2 years ago. She has very tiny scars and was out of work I think just 2 days. Best of luck to your FI, but I'm sure he'll be fine and be feeling much better soon :)

  • congrats on figuring out the details of your brunch! it sounds awesome, we are doing something really similar and i am excited about it! the brunch buffet is the way to go, i think, since everyone likes to eat totally different things for breakfast!

and i am glad it was nothing more serious with your fiance! any surgery is scary, but gallbladder surgeries are very minimally invasive and fairly routine! we will keep him in our thoughts!
  • YAY! for both!!

Really the gallbladder surgery isn't bad at all...I had mine taken out almost 5 years ago & I am doing just fine, with other than trying not to eat a high fat diet!  (diarreah (sp?) sucks!!)  I was down for a week...Try not to make him laugh because it hurts like a MO FO!  because of the gas they put into his body, there is a lot of pressure & where you laugh (abdominal area) that area hurts...

But he'll be just fine!! just make sure he burps & farts before he leaves the hospital!! =)
  • duly noted! Thanks, Littlemoments! haha

  • That's sort of great news! Who needs a galbladder, anyway?

  • Yay for the checks and for getting some answers on what was going on with your FI!  I hope that the surgery goes well and that he has a speedy recovery!!

  • Yay for getting those checks done on both fronts!! If FI is worried about time off from work maybe try and get a Friday surgery so he has Saturday/Sunday to recupperate and maybe Monday go back to work or at least cut down on the days off.
