MGs - rings on HM?

a few of my friends left their e-ring at home and only wore their wedding ring on their HM. they didnt want to risk losing it or having something happen to it while on vacation. a part of me understands this and might do it but i also want to wear both rings on my HM! what did you guys do?

Make sure they are insured!!!

Unless you are going somewhere where the crime is unreasonably high you are just as likely to loose it or have it stolen at home.

very true... we're going to aruba and i will probably be sitting on the beach all day. and i hate to wear jewelry at the beach but i guess i'll have to make the exception!

I did not want to take mine off and I was loving twisting his on his finger when we were holding hands. Plus everyone who saw us said oh you are newlyweds because those rings are VERY shiny! Made us feel special.

I took both rings with me, I saw no reason to leave it at home. I could just as easily loose it at home, as pp said, just make sure they are insured.

Leaving them home and wearing off good knock-offs, will be on the beach all day in Aruba, do not want suncreen and sand caked in my $$$ rings.... On top of that crime is high everywhere, dont make yourself a target. I was targeted in Costa Rica for my fake diamond earrings, he went to yank them from my ears, it was very scary.

My ering is insured but I wasn't taking any risks for the length of time we were away. Plus as you said, I don't wear jewelry at the beach anyway. I brought only my band. My next vacation I would probably bring both though since it won't be as long.

I only wore my wedding band. I REALLY wanted to take both but MH insisted I leave my e ring home. We were in Costa Rica and while the crime rate is rather low there, they DO target tourists. While I agree it is true you are just as likely to lose or get robbed anywhere, when you're a tourist you stick out much more.

I wore both, I wear them all the time, got them cleaned when I went home, these rings are apart of me, I could NEVER put on a fake one. Crime is everywhere, I actually flip them if I am walking around anyway (NYC, crowded places down the shore, sporting events)

I wore only my wedding band. We went to Costa Rica and knew we would be doing other things besides sitting on the beach. First time I really never wore my e-ring.

We went to Aruba and I wore both of my rings. There were so many honeymooners around and if you didn't see diamonds flashing around it was rare. The only time I took them off was when we went on a snorkeling excursion. My fingers shrink in colder water and I didn't want to take a chance. I agree with others that mentioned crime is everywhere.

My wedding ring will be my great-grandmother's eternity wedding band. It's too precious to me and my family to take risks with it so I already purchased a cheaper ring to wear when traveling. Crime can happen anywhere but I feel like I will not be willing to take obvious risks with an heirloom. As a social worker, I also plan on wearing my stand-in ring while doing home visits in the South Bronx.

i wore both my rings....except for when we went in the pool.....i wore them to the pool once....and was checking to make sure they were there every 5 seconds, so the next time i locked them up in the safe....i was still checking too see if there were there (i've got this habit now since we got engaged...every now and again my thumb will reach over to feel the ring....)...the first time i wasn't wearing them i freaked out for a second because i forgot i left them in the safe....

my concern was not them getting stolen, but losing them or something....mh wore his too, but left it in the safe when we went to the pool too....

i wear mine all the time normally (except to shower) so i didn't see any reason to not wear them on our hm....

If you did wear your rings and they took them off for excursions did you leave them in the room safe? you felt secure with that?

I left mine in the room safe. We put things in there a few days before I took my rings off to see if anything would happen. We left some money in there, our camera etc and nothing was every touched so I felt secure putting my rings in there.

Keep in mind that most insurance companies will want a police report if your ring gets stolen. The last thing I would want to do while I was on my honeymoon, after my E-ring had been stolen, would be to sit in a police station and wait for someone to do a report.

Leave the big stone home and take the band.

Also, don't post on Facebook that you are on vacation and then leave the E-ring home. (or send pictures to your page of you on the beach) That's when many homes are targeted for burglaries because people know that you are away.

I took both of them with me. The first few days i wore both but then MH put the e-ring in the safe and I wore my wedding ring.

The first few days I couldn't wear either b/c poison ivy had taken over my finger and it was swollen to twice it's size... I wore them on my necklace and then they stayed in the safe until I could get them back on. I always wear them so I didn't see a reason to not wear it. DH left his in the safe when we went to the beach and went on a snorkeling trip.

I wore both of mine....imo, wearing them all the time at home is no different than wearing them all the time on vacation. And mine weren't, and still aren't, insured! *gasp*
