Dress comparison pics from inweddingdress--does this work on me?

Okay, no wonder I could not see how to upload pictures the other day--the photo icon doesn't appear on the iPad. Anyway, I had written a description of my experience with inweddingdress.com. I bought this dress online and am really pleased with the fit, quality, price, and speed in which it arrived. My problem is with online shopping--now that I've tried it on, I don't know if I like it on me, and there's no returning it. What do you think? It arrived as pictured (here is the original picture online: http://www.inweddingdress.com/style-bc566.html and below are 3 pics of it actually on me) but of course I don't have a model's body, and the part that concerns me is that the way it countours to my butt as you can see in the last pic. Sexy is not my usual style because I'm  pretty modest. Is this dress too form fitting? (The wedding is not overly formal or traditional, so I think the dress is ok in level of formality). I'm not overly attached to the long train, which is not fully in the photo I took. Do you think a tailor could take some fabric from the bottom and add one more ruffle a little higher so it's not so much of a mermaid fit?

Re: Dress comparison pics from inweddingdress--does this work on me?

  • Oh one more thing I should have added. There is a string under the train for a bustle. I have never used a bustle and I think I tried it wrong--I tried hooking the loop over the bottom button on the back. That didn't look right. But is there maybe a way to bustle this so my butt isn't the main attraction of the dress and the ruffles cover that part? I just have a slightly big butt for my frame, and I get compliments, but my wedding dress definitely isn't where I want to accentuate this.
  • I think its looks great on you!!!!!  I'm not sure what alterations they can do.  Yes it shows off your curves but I don't think its overly or inappropriately sexy.  You're rockin it!!

  • I think it looks great on you as well and I wouldn't say "Wow, she looks super sexy."  I'd say "She looks so pretty!"  As for the bustle, your best bet is to talk to a seamstress.  They will know what can and can't be done.

  • I think it looks great on you just as it is!  I'd be careful about making structural changes as it may change the balance which I think is right on
  • I think it looks great! That dress compliments your body very well. Not too tight but tight enough to show of what you got and I'm sure the parts that your FI loves about you. I say keep it based on the way it looks on you but you're the one that has to be comfortable in it.
  • I think you lucked out big time on a knock off site. Well done. It looks beautiful on you.
  • This looks beautiful on you!  It's definitely form-fitting and on the "sexier" side but I wouldn't look at it and think, "Wow, that's a really flashy, sexy dress" but rather, "Wow, that dress fits her so well.  She looks amazing!"

  • Ok, thanks everyone. I'm just not used to really really dressing up and I haven't since prom :). Thanks for the encouragement. My family and even my dad liked it so that helps convince me it's not too racy.
  • you look so beautiful in it, nothing needs to be changed.
