I posted already on the NEY boards, but I figured this is the most fitting place for this. I am currently on vacation in Hawaii and just got engaged Friday night
We flew into Kona (Big Island) Friday afternoon, got something to eat, checked into our hotel and went down to the black sand beach for sunset. After walking on the beach for a little bit, BF grabbed my hand, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him :-D Then we sat down together to finish watching the sunset...it was very romantic.
I was very surprised because he's been going on and on lately about how he couldn't afford a ring (since we were going to Hawaii and he also just got LASIK) and how he thought proposing in Hawaii would be 'cliche'. But he's apparently a good liar for things like that because I was completely not expecting a proposal here.
