Ceremony and celebrate with just closest family

So we want to get married but keep it really small since our budget is small. We would like to save money for a down payment on a home. Budget around 3,000 and would like to get married in Florida but are thinking of going against the traditional wedding thing and want something intimate and romantic with just our immediate family... Thoughts and ideas, please!!! Not sure where to start, when I google, I only find wedding venues - any other ideas?

    Not sure if this would interest you, but if you are already going down to Florida why not do a cruise wedding?  My FI and I are leaving for our cruise wedding in less than two months (AH!!!) and so far we have kept the budget around $1500 (the cruise itself was paid for by my parents, as were the flights, so those aren't in the budget).   The biggest budget saver is that the food is included in the cost of the cruise so it won't cost us any extra to feed our guests a formal 4-course seated meal!  And with built in entertainment and activities we won't be spending extra to entertain our guests, either.

    Anyway, we are opting for a port wedding in Grand Cayman and a reception back on the ship.  Our wedding planner on GC (Simply Weddings) knows of lots of little hidden beaches that not many people know about and has advised us to get married in the morning (10AMish) so we will have a pretty private ceremony even though the beach will be public.  It'll be a nice, quiet, intimate ceremony on the beach with just our immediate families and three closest friends.

    A friend of mine just got married at Jupiter Lighthouse in Fla. with just family and a handful of close friends. They rented a house for the night and had dinner there. It was pretty low-budget and turned out really nice.
