  I think a cute summer dress would be a good idea, maybe something flowy/not too tight? I'm just imagining walking around and climbing around in mid-August heat and I would be extremely uncomfortable if my clothing was tight. Are you short, average, tall? I think dresses that hit at or just above the knee would be really cute. Something like this? Not necessarily that length if you aren't comfortable with it, but that's what I think of when I say flowy.

  
  

  
  
  

  
  

  I also think it would be cute if your FI matched you in some way, without being overly matchy-matchy. Maybe whatever color your dress or shirt is could be a tie color for him? Definitely think about colors that complement each other, since you will obviously be standing together a lot! 

  
  

  As far as hair and makeup, I would do whatever you are comfortable in--you should look that way in your photos. If your hair doesn't hold up in hot weather, put it up and maybe add a hair accessory? Or leave it down for the first set of clothing and put it up as you get hot? For makeup, I would make sure whatever you wear holds up in heat. The last thing you want is for it to look runny! Use powder over liquid or cream, in my opinion. I've heard before that if you buy a $50 Sephora gift card, they will do your makeup for free. Maybe you could try that, if it's in your budget and you will use the gift card at a later point anyway? You could tell them what you want and that you will be outdoors and I'm sure they could make something work.

  We have ours this weekend and we are a laid back couple. Our 1st outfit is he will be wearing a polo and shorts and I will wear a little summer dress. 2nd outfit will be shorts and tank (me) and t-shirt (him). The 3rd we will be wearing our penguin jerseys! We are sports fans and love to be outdoors!!

  We did ours last month and I'm not the most fashion savy person out there. lol I love the way cute dresses or outfits with accessories look, but I have never been one to actually wear them. I wanted to do a dress so bad, but didn't feel comfortable in any that I tried on. So I found a tank top and a light, flowy cardigan to go over it with nicer jeans. FI was in a polo and nicer jeans. I did light make up (liquid foundation, mascara, lip gloss) and just wore my hair down. We only did one change, and it was just our shirts. I wore a cami underneath so we could comfortably change our shirts outside. I'd post a pic but for some reason it's not letting me. Just wear something that you are comfortable in and that you feel beautiful in cause it'll show in your pics!

  Fi and I are big college football fans and we've decided to incorporate that into our epics so we'll be wearing our Gator jerseys, Gator face stickers and tossing a Gator football around on the beach!
  
  For our other outfit I want us to wear the typical matching shirts with jeans and then for another set I want to wear a sundress but I'm very picky with dresses so we shall see. Our pics are few days after yours!

  We had our pictures done last Sunday as you have probably seen in a PP I did... I ended up wearing dark jeans and coral short sleeve shirt with a white cami underneath that. Shoe wise I wore a cute pair of wedges. The only jewelry that I wore was a cute necklace, my e-ring, and some earrings nothing more than that.
  
  My suggestions outfit wise for you is to find something that your are comfortable in. If your normally wear jeans I would find a really cute pair of jeans you like and you can dress them up or down a few different ways. I seen you said something about it being a small hike the one thing I can suggest here is wear comfy shoes you can walk in. Also when I started my outfit search I read that dark colors are more figure flattering in pictures. I hope this helps somewhat...

  I agree with PP that said you should be comfortable in what you're wearing. I think if you're uncomfortable it'll show in your pictures. My pics are on Sunday & I'm trying to figure out what to wear myself. I've ruled out dresses because I never feel pretty/comfortable in them. What about wearing jeans & a nice top rather than a t-shirt?

  I agree with the other ladies; wear what you are comfortable in. I think you will want to try to look nice for the photos, so maybe wear something a little "dressier" than you usually wear but don't go over the top (which may make you uncomfortable). I just had my pictures taken and wore a casual sundress and FI wore a plain white button shirt and khaki shorts. We changed into jeans an t-shirts for the second half of our photos, so don't be afraid to do something like that also!
  
  Maybe find a flowy dress that flatters your figure? Shopping for this dress was very stressful for me too, and it took me all day to finally find something (I was being picky) but I'm glad I put the effort in. Just set aside a day to shop and don't stop until you find something!

  I'm thinking about staying away from dresses - well I think a sun dress would be really cute, but I absolutely hate my calfs, so I'd feel really selfconscious about them, so I'll probably be stuck in jeans. But when I imagine it, I can totally picture a sun dress or something like that. I think it would be fun. Unless she can get shots above the kness if I do go that route.
  
  The photographer suggested a 4pm shoot so it (hopefully) won't be as hot and it'll allow enough sunlight for the shoot. And to think of it, might allow for a nice sun set pic (if the time and location allow).
  
  I think I'm going to go to the store this weekend and see what I can find. I'm guessing nice jeans and a nice top. I definitely don't want to wear a typical t-shirt. Maybe I'll start by looking online at a few places before I actually go.
  
  I'm thinking for my hair, I'll straighten it and wear it back in my casual ponytail (it looks 100xs better than curly) and then once it (hopefully) cools down a little, I can put it down. I intend to carry a small brush.
  
  I'd like to keep the make up simple - I don't usually wear too much anyhow, but I'd like to maybe do something a litle more than the norm (maybe the perfect shade of lipstick - I usually only wear lipstick for "dressier" occasions).
  
  I think (if I can find one!) I like the cardigan idea. Every time I've tried to imagine our pictures, I'm wearing one.
