introduction of family and bridal party

I'm wondering if that is traditionally done at Jewish weddings or does the bride and groom just enter the room. thanks!

Re: introduction of family and bridal party

  • I don't know what is traditionally done, but FI and I decided not to announce the bridal party. We're having our ceremony and reception in the same place, and it just seemed silly to have the recessional, do pictures/cocktail hour, then get announced. Plus, when I was a bridesmaid I didn't like going through the whole announcement thing, so it wasn't something I wanted to do for my wedding.
  • We were announced. I've seen it both ways.

  • We were announced.  After the ceremony, we did yichud, then we joined our guests at cocktail hour (and took a few extended family photos).  Everything was at the same venue, so after cocktail hour, the venue coordinator encouraged everyone to go into the reception room and sit down.  DH and I were introduced, and then our parents were introduced at their seats (we did not have a bridal party).
