Anyone not have a straight aisle?

I've been looking up different aisle runners, still hesistant about having one, and I got to thinking about my aisle....it's "L shaped". Does anyone else have this?

If so, are you using an aisle runner or doing something else like trails of flower petals? I suppose to could "Cut" the part off that is making the L, but every setup I've seen at my venue has had the aisle runner cutoff, then continued in the L shape.

Re: Anyone not have a straight aisle?

  • My ceremony is going to be outside, and the aisle is brick and has stairs -- not a good fit for an aisle runner!  I'm sprinkling flower petals down either side, which I think looks gorgeous.  Personally I'm not a huge fan of aisle runners in general since I always seem to trip over them or get my shoe caught or something.

If you have your heart set on a runner, cutting it off at the end and overlapping it a bit to go the other direction seems like it will work fine.  Just make sure you can pin it down or adhere it somehow so people don't trip over the fabric.
  • I think I may just do the flower petal idea. I actually completely forgot about an aisle runner until the people at my venue mentioned it. I gotta admit, I'm a little wary about having one, since I'm pretty accident prone!

  • My aisle goes around a tree.... not doing a runner.  We are lining the aisle with mini mason jars with flowers hanging from shepard's hooks.  But, if the floor/ground looks nice, I'd say don't worry about a runner or just do petals or lanterns or something.
  • We have to walk aroud a very large baptismal font. We're not doing an aisle runner but the FG will toss petals after the font
  • Thanks for the input, ladies! I'm meeting with the venue coordinator tomorrow morning. I'll probably end up just going with using their columns to create some semblance of an aisle and do something with candles and petals.
