Salons for bridal parites

Shamas is Sylvania is CLOSING -- this week!  I was planning on having my bridal party go there to get our nails and hair done for my wedding.  Does anyone know of any salons who can accommodate 7 girls in the spa besides David Broadway??

I have 7 and im going to beauty bar! I love them. I used to go to Salon Soto but I live closer to beauty bar now. I cant believe shamas is closing thats crazy. We are doing a Mani/Pedi party the day before. They have several packages but the one I chose is $55 for the mani and pedi! Thats how much I pay for just a pedi at David broadway!

Does beauty bar do pedis and manis for that many then? That would be nice I live by there!  Ua, the one in Perrysburg is staying open but Sylvania is closing and my nail girl told me they dont do bridal parties in the Perrysburg location because they only have 2 pedi chairs.

They have 4 pedi chairs in a row. So for me it will be half and half I think. Half of us will get pedis while half get manis then we switch. I already booked it. By the way its 100$ for the suite and its upstairs. Dont bother getting that my SIL got it because it was free then and they didnt even use it because the nail area is soooo nice.

Perfect timing maureen!.. I was just getting ready to write a post about this - mind if I tack on?

Coco  -- did you like Soto before you switched? I'm looking at them for hair/makeup for the day of... (Kelly if you're reading this -- I think I read you reco'ed Soto once, too?)

Anybody have any other reviews or comments on DB, Beauty Bar, Reve... anything else??

I've been to reve to get my hair cut and loved it. But unfortunately have not been there for manis or pedis. Also I got a pamphlet from Ahava spa... they offer bridal party packages I think?

We had our make-up done at Soto and were happy with it.

I've been going to Soto for years and I love it. My girls and I will all be there the morning of our wedding to get stuff done (hair, nails, toes, makeup-- it's the girls' choices, I'm not making them do anything).

For large groups who want manis/pedis, try Johnathon Khoi in Maumee.

I love Soto, I'm there at least once a week getting something done.  FI and I are doing spa/pre wedding days on the Thursday and Friday before the wedding.  On the morning of, two of the girls are coming to my home to do make up for us.

Side note - I've only been to Ahava once and was not impressed at all.  Which bummed me out, because they are a block from my house.  I do need to give them another chance......

Just curious.... what is the reason for Shamas closing the Sylvania place?

I completely agree with this!!  JK is great!!

As for hair, I've heard good things about Definitions of Design in Maumee, and had a good bridal party experience at Metro Salon (Holland-Sylvania/Sylvania)

I go to Ahava and love it!  It's not the biggest place but they always do a great job.

I've also been to Beauty Bar for a pedicure.  It's a great place but more expensive than Ahava.

Thanks girls! This is all very helpful.  Im not sure why they are closing, I think the owner was in financial trouble though because they were doing pretty well I thought.

Okay first off, Jonathan Khoi is a wonderful wonderful place! Highly recommend them for mani/pedi's and they have several chairs if you want everyone to get theirs done at the same time.

As for Beauty Bar...I only went there once to get my hair done (dyed) and I will not go there again. Of course, I had a level 1 stylist so that may have been why I wasn't satisfied. But I still walked out of there paying wayyyy too much for what was done. If you're on a budget I don't suggest going there unless you get a good deal and are able to get a stylist above a level 1. I've never had a mani/pedi there though so I can't comment on that. I'm sure not everyone has had bad experiences with Beauty Bar, but to me it's just not worth the price.

Just an FYI there is not levels for nails techs. Ther price for the mani and pedi that my party is geting is $50 for the combo that includes both. They are high for hair, but thats to be expected for a nice salon. Most high end salons will fix your hair for free if you dont like it. I went to david broadway and paid $200 to get my hair dyed back to my natual color and I hated my hair turned out red(I have very dark brown hair) they offered to fix it at no additional charge. I know Soto will fix it for free also. So Im almost positive beauty bar would. You should let them know.

<div>I wasn't talking about levels for nail techs since I have not been there to get my nails done. So I hope people are not mistaking my post. As for my hair, it was a while ago so its beyond asking them to fix it now. But the stylist knew I was unhappy and her response was "I know thats not what you wanted, but I don't have time for this right now." I was also in a hurry since I had somewhere else to be shortly after so I just sucked it up and handed over the money and left. To me, it just wasn't worth $100 for a few small barely noticable highlights. But I think I just got an inexperienced stylist who happened to be in a bad mood that day. Who knows. Either way, its good salon and I'm sure the higher level stylists do a much better job. I wouldn't mind going back there for other services but I'm not about to go back for them to touch my hair unless I'm prepared to fork out a nice chunk of money. lol.</div>

Well frankly what she said to you was rude.  I definately feel for you I had a bad experience at one salon which I wont mention after I had gone there for 10 years. I probably wont go back unless its for something else. david broadway didnt fix my hair that day they gave me like a 2 week timeframe to come back.  I was just mentioning theres no levels on nail techs so people dont think they will each have different prices because they do have levels for nail techs at david broadway. And I do agree with you they are kind of pricey on hair because they charge for EVERYTHING. flatiron, curling iron anything.
