MFP Friends

I've had great luck with the site so far. I've lost 16 pounds in several weeks and hardly ever feel hungry/binge-crazy anymore. :)

I burn most of my calories through Turbo Jam (I love Cardio Party Mix #1), but I also walk/hike when the weather is nice. I'd like to do a 5K in another year or so when I'm not afraid of destroying my knees/feet. Jogging at 300+ kind of scares me.

    Turbo Jam is a cardio program that helps you burn off the weight but is fun with music and fast movements! It's a great way to burn the pounds away, as long as you are eating healthy along with it. I usually recommend this for people who are starting out on their fitness journey and looking for some cardio work.     Turbo Jam is awesome! It's mostly kickboxing and dance moves set to hip-hop/techno mixes. Cardio Party Mix #1 is my favorite. I do it almost every day.

    It's led by Chalene, from the Beach Body series. Her cues need a little work, but it's pretty easy to pick up once you do it a few times. If I mess something up, I just kinda dance in place until I get back into the rhythm. Any movement is good movement. ;)

    There's an option to set the music to "pumped up". Don't choose that until you have the moves down. If you pump it up, the music kind of drowns her out, and you won't know what's coming. I have it pumped now because I have it pretty much memorized. It really helps because it's awesome music. :)

    The DVDs have five workouts, but that's the only one I do for now. I do The Firm when I want to use weights and mix it up a bit.
