I'm going to look at Crystal Springs this weekend...I just found their website and liked what I saw, but can't find many reviews or add'l information. Anyone out there have anything to share?
I don't have any feedback about them for a wedding but one of my co-workers just got back from a long weekend there to celebrate his wedding anniversary. He said it was a wonderful stay, great golfing, nice spa, and the food was delicious. Only complaint and it could have been the time that they went was there was a decent amount of kids running around.
i spent a long weekend there too wth my fiance and everything was great. our room was really nice, food was awesome. we had brunch there and also ate at the resturant latour on evening. Like demarcosjd said the pool area did have a lot of kids running around, which wasn't exactly what I was looking for when lounging by the pool. but everything else was great. the grounds are beautiful I am sure it will make for an excellent wedding location
I will have to see if I can find my notes, but I think for the grand cascades- the newest part- they required somewhere around a $30,000 to book. They quoted me a total rather than a price per head. I found them almost impossible to work with, it took about 4 phone calls to make an appointment and then they canceled it. I'm not sure what your price range is, but I would ask for pricing because I found them to be much more expensive than other venues.
On a side note, I helped set up my FI's bachelor party up there this past weekend (golf, dinner and rooms) and the hotel rooms are outrageous. We were given a discount since we booked a golf outing and a suite with a King bed and pull out couch was about $350. The regular room was over $250.
I tried calling them for an appt when I started looking at venues, and either I ended up with voicemails, or someone who didn't work in the banquet dept. I tried emailing as well and never got a response.
A friend of mine's brother got married there, she said the wedding was beautiful and the food was great, but if you have a lot of OOT guests then booking rooms became a nightmare. It seemed like the Banquet hall and the hotel didn't discuss blocks for hotels rooms, and things were just a hassle.
We got engaged there and had a great time. The Latour restaurant is excellent though very price. I have heard weddings there are pretty pricey. It was out of our budget.
My only other concern is that the hotel rooms there are pretty expensive, which could be a problem for guests.
Thanks for the feedback. I have to admit while they have been responsive to my emails, it's already been a bit of a hassle-- it's like 3 email exchanges are required for an answer to 1 easy question! We'll see how it goes...I do have their pricing and while they are high considering where they're located, they said they're flexible. We're open to a wedding slightly out of peak season, so I'm hoping that will be to our benefit on costs and especially the hotel rate-- almost all of our guests would need to stay over. That will possibly be a make or break point...I'll let you all know how it goes after the weekend!
I looked there for my wedding. The customer service was not good. It took many phone calls to even get an appt and you almost never seem to talk to the same person. They also would not give me any prices over the phone. I went to see it and the grounds were beautiful and everything seemed really nice. The downfall for me was the price of the guest rooms. I didn't want to ask my OOT guests to spend that much on a room. But all in all I thought it was really nice, but pricey and poor customer service!
I live right down the street from here - its a very nice resort, but in my opinion very overpriced. It was the 1st place I called when we got engaged just cause Im so close- you had to guarentee at least $35k (regardless of seasons) to have a wedding there and it was $190/pp. They didnt give a minimum head count, but it was basically you need to pay at least $35k in food alone or you cant get married there. They way they spoke to me, I did not get the feeling there was any flexibility in pricing. They also offer weddings at Mineral Resorts in Vernon which is part of Crystal Springs resorts. Its still nice, not as nice, but very pretty with hotel/golf on site, pool, spa, etc and is more affordable. I dont know the price there, but I know it is much less than weddings at Grand Cascades.
I'm getting married at Minerals Resort in October and I have had a really good experience. I actually just had one of my detail finalizing meetings there yesterday and it really cemented for me that our decision to get married there was a good one. I was originally interested in Grand Cascades and trying to schedule a tour there was quite a hassle, plus it was really expensive. It was so much easier to schedule a tour of Minerals. The ballroom and gardens there are very nice and well taken care of, it is cheaper than GC, and fit the amount of guests we're expecting, so we went there instead. The menu is the same for both places so there's no difference in food, you're really just paying for the ambience and newness of GC. The hotel rooms in Minerals are also very nice and cheaper (you receive a group discount for the rooms for your guests depending on how many rooms you're booking, you also receive a complimentary room for you and your FI/DH on the night of your wedding). I'm working with an events coordinator there named Danielle and she's been excellent, so I would call and ask for her directly or if you want to PM me I can give you more details! HTH!
We looked there and it was a little too pricey for me. I play golf at a number of Crystal Springs' courses and my experience with that seems to be the same as what I felt when shopping them; very beautiful location, very good food, a little difficult to work with, and a bit expensive. And we would've been willing to pay the extra $'s, but we thought the price was higher than the quality. I guess we didn't think as highly of them as they thought of themselves.
Crystal Springs Cascade is beautiful, however the Banquet/Wedding Manager is a pain to deal with. After finally getting in touch with her and past the hurdles, we were happy to find out that we'll be dealing with her assistant Sarah, who is great, leading up to and the day of the wedding. If you can get by dealing with Jean, it's worth it. We are booked for October of 2011 and were able to get the Gold Package for $140 pp. with a minimum of $28K or the platinum for around 180 pp. We got the room rates down to around $249 for the suites and the deluxe for around $229, but I'm sure we'll have the out of towners staying at the Minerals as well which they own and is down the road about 2 miles. The rates are about 60-70 less per night and the rooms are very nice since they were all just renovated. They will provide shuttle services if we have a min number of rooms at both otherwise, it's around $200 for the day which is not bad considering the alternative. Another great option up there, as someone else mentioned, is the Minerals Resort. Not as grand as the Cascades, but a great deal for the $$. We got quotes of around $105 pp for the gold package at Minerals for a Saturday in Oct. We wish we could have used Danielle at Minerals as our coordinator because she is so easy to deal with and makes you feel comfortable she has everything handled, which I cannot say for Jean at Crystal. She is all over the place, not confident in her answers and a bit rude. With that said, I have a friend who got married there last year and it went off without a hitch and it was an amazing wedding. Thankfully, you dont really have to deal with her once you get the contract taken care of, being that you work with one of her assitants from that point on. Hope this was helpful.
Re: Crystal Springs Resort???

But check it out you may have better luck!

Pipe down, you had your chance!
