  • So I have a question for you meal-planners.  I know a lot of you ladies on this board are crazy-busy-- as much as if not more than me.  Does meal planning seem to help you feel more controlled and organized? Or does it feel like a nuisance and just another thing to get done before the week begins? I know it has great benefits for health reasons and budgeting, but the very concept of sitting down and planning out a week's worth of meals stresses the hell out of me, because I am worn thin.

  • Sunday spaghetti Monday tilapia Tuesday chicken pasta salad Wednesday shrimp scampi Thursday baked chicken Friday burgers. Saturday dinner at my parents H and I just started meal planning last month and it has been well worth it. We spend less at the grocery store, eat better, and made things go faster. At night I check what's for dinner the next day and pull what I need out of the freezer. I get home and just start cooking. Before I would add an extra hour of "what do you want" plus being lazy after work so delaying starting dinner.

  • We cook on the weekend for lunches, since we don't normally eat dinner.  DH smoked three turkey breasts and some chicken asparagus cheese sausage, so we're having:

    *turkey sandwiches with provolone/mozzarella cheese
*pasta with red sauce, cheese, and turkey
*pasta with alfredo sauce, cheese, and sausage
    *turkey enchiladas
    *salad with or without turkey
    *risotto with asparagus

YES. A thousand times yes. We cook pretty much every night, and the thought of coming home after a long day and trying to figure out WTF to cook for dinner that night stresses me out--especially when I know that I will have to be doing MORE work after dinner. We have one big shopping trip per week to get everything that we will need, and then when I get home, I decide what I want off the menu and do that. (Or my husband does it.)

In my opinion, it's way easier than trying to piece something together from whatever food we have in the house.
