Minnesota-Minneapolis and St. Paul

Has anyone noticed...

...my sig? I'm freaking out.  We have barely 1/2 our RSVPs in, and the deadline is Friday.

Married gals- did you end up with this many late ones? I'm worried because quite a large chunk of our guest list is 25 and under, and I'm not sure they know to send them back.  (A few have said "well you know I'm going to be there anyway!")

I forgot to send my in to my Cousin's wedding. (I was waiting to hear if FI could get leave) But called it in a few days late. My Mom said the same thing- oh they know you are coming. I reminded her that they need numbers even if it's a buffet.

I wouldn't get too flustered until this wknd. :)

Going into the last week before the RSVPs were due I had maybe half, but by the end of the week we got a ton of them and had almost all of them.  You'll have to be a little patient....I got quite a few in the couple of days after the rsvp date.  We didn't end up having to call very many!  I hope it works out the same for you!

I've warned my Mom she is going to have to help me call everyone.  I still have about 50+ to come back.  I have about 10 days. I feel your pain!

Our deadline was 9/25 and we received a ton that day. We wound up with about 85% of our RSVPs back after the deadline, and I've had to call/email/text the rest. (Don't get me started on people who won't respond to your RSVP inquiries...)

I was still missing about 30 RSVPs as of a week ago. Yeah, my wedding is almost here. I ended up being the obnoxious bride harrasing my parents and his parents to call their guests who hadn't RSVP'd. You don't realize how much you need your final guest count for until you are waiting on the slackers :)

I had less than 50% by the due date. I waited a couple of days after, and sent e-mails or FB messages to those I could, had MIL make calls on her side, and made a few calls for those on my side. I'm pretty sure RSVP's are the WORST part of the planning process, they cause nothing but stress (and a bit of resentment). It will work out, but you'll have to put in a bit of effort. Don't worry about it until a few days after the due date, you'll get quite a bit in these last few days.

Yep, it's just what happens. We were missing about 35% of our RSVPs by the deadline. Just takes some following up. I split up the missing RSVPs by person, so I called my friends, FI called his, his parents called their friends and mine called theirs. It's really not so bad when you do it that way.

our deadline was 9/25. The most RSVPs came back within 2 weeks of sending the invitations and the others were mostly the last week and a few people see the 9/25 deadline and mail it on that day. Be patient (i know it's hard!!!). The Monday - Wednesday after the deadline we made a few calls and sent emails out. You might want to send a reminder email to the "under 25" crowd - I agree with you - they tend to forget or don't think it's as important as it is (unless they're married or have been in enough weddings).

So we got 5 RSVPs today; I feel a little better.  Jeremy and I each sent out quick "hey! don't forget to RSVP" texts/fb messages to our friends we were unsure of.  Partially because we've been told by at least 5 people they never received an invite (ugh.)  So hopefully we'll get the rest this week!

I haven't sent out invitations yet, (my date isn't for a year) but I've been warned by my FI that my future in laws tend to not RSVP and then bring whomever they want (even if they weren't invited) so we have to make name cards for people who RSVP, keep them at the door and people will have to check in at the reception. I'm planning on calling people I want to come a couple days before RSVPs are due to make sure they know they can't come in if their name tag isn't at the door of the reception. Annoying.
