FI and I love Flame!  We enjoy going there for happy hour on random weeknights.  I'd agree that it's "American"  I also am a big fan of the Shout House.  Been going there for about 7 years (less now than when I was in college).

I wish I had answers to a lot of these questions, but I guess I don't go out that often... my survey would be pretty blank.

    Best Italian Restaurant: Fat Lorenzo's

Best American Grill: It may not be the "best" but I have a strange affinity for Scoreboard in Minnetonka :-)

Best "fun" Bar: There are couple of dive-y fun bars in Hopkins

Best Chinese Restaurant: "Tea House" in Plymouth

Best Thai: "Spice" in Savage. It's pretty much a hole in the wall in a strip mall, but the food is AMAZING. Also, they're actually Malaysian, but "Peninsula" on Eat St. has a ton of amazing Thai dishes as well.

    Best "high class" Bar: Prohibition

Best Mexican/Spanish style Restaurant: Um, the only thing I can think of that deserves that title is all the way in Eau Claire... Manny's. Yummm.

Best Nightclub for dancing: It isn't the classiest club, but I've always had a really fun time at The Lounge.

    Best Comedy Club: Acme

    Best French Restaurant: No idea...

    Best "budget friendly" Restaurant: Scoreboard

Best Lake for people watching: Calhoun, but it can be overwhelming.

    Best Lake for boating: idk...

Best lakeside/riverside Restaurant: The Dock in Stillwater

Best neighborhood to take a walk: I actually really love my neighborhood, right near Bryant Lake Park. Lots of hills :-)

Best Scenic drive: Downtown Stillwater, East River Road near the U of M Campus, or if you take Flying Cloud Drive south of Eden Prairie and into like Chaska/Carver.

    Best Candy/chocolate shop: idk...

    Best mall: Southdale

    Best Boutique: idk...

Best movie theatre: There are two theatres right on either side of I-94, one's technically in Rogers, the other's in St. Michael. I can never remember which one's which, but they're both super nice and wayyyy cheaper than any of the centrally located theatres. I used to go out there all the time when I lived in Maple Grove.

Best "hole in the wall" diner/restaurant: Half of my list are "hole in the walls"... but I'll add "Pineda Tacos" in Plymouth.

Best Apple Orchard: Apple Jack in Delano, or Aamodt's in Stillwater

Best Sledding Hill: Does the tubing hill at Buck Hill count ;-) ?

Best area to see Christmas lights:

    Best parade:

Best REAL ice cream shop (not DQ!):
