1920s Vintage Menu

I'm having a Jazz Age themed wedding. Before I selected this theme I wanted to have Pappas Barbeque cater my event. Now I feel conflicted. Would it be too out of place or informal? Should I go with traditional twenties party food? (And if so, what should the menu consist of?)

I think BBQ seems incongruous to Jazz Age theme.

You're in Baton Rouge; what about classic standbys from the era of Jazz in New Orleans? I'd go to Galatoire's Menu online and start getting ideas there. Turtle soup, gumbo, shrimp remoulade, oysters rockefeller, etc. as possible starters and then choice of steak, chicken, or fish with a traditional sauce for the main course. Bread pudding or baked Alaska as a dessert?

You can enter a decade (ie 192*) with an asterisk and it will give you menus from that decade. Looks pretty cool.

I'm a (soon-to-be) army wife. We're having the wedding in Houston.

I was thinking more along the lines of pulled pork, ribs, sliced/chopped beef, baked potatoes, and such.
