Invite Mess-Up :(

We just sent out our invitations and I was so happy to have that done and my SIL just told me that her response envelope was missing a return address. It had a stamp but no return address and now I'm worried that I missed a few more. Our return address was on the outer envelope but I think I forgot a couple on the response envelopes. Is it going to be okay? I'm freaking out right now!

Re: Invite Mess-Up :(

  • So it's the return address that's missing on the response, right, and that's it? Personally, I think that'd be fine, so no worries. :) We did RSVP postcards and didn't really have room for a return address (I since regretted it, but oh well, it was too late by the time it started to really bother me, ha ha), and it's been fine. No worries!

  • Do you mean missing a return address as in it's blank envelope with a stamp?
It doesn't have to be perfect to be everything I want!

  • Is there no address at all on the RSVP envelope or is it the actual return address?  If its the actual return address, that's no biggie at all.  Most invites I have gotten don't have them.  I usually stick my own on it.

  • I didn't include a return address on our RSVP envelopes.  I actually didn't even think to put a return address on it, because it would be the same address as who the envelope was addressed to (FI & I).

</div><div>I'm not putting a return address on ours either.  It would be like having our address on the same envelope twice.  I don't think I've ever gotten a RSVP envelope with the couple's address on it twice.</div><div>
</div><div>If it was a blank envelope with a stamp on it, that's a different story.  Hopefully OP only missed a few envelopes.</div>

  • Yes, a blank envelope with just a stamp as in I totally forgot to put our address on it. THe only place our address is is on the outer envelope. I think I only forgot on the last few I put together but I'm worried!

I would send out a mass e-mail or call people and explain the mix up and give them your address to write on the envelope.

  • I see-- sorry, I misunderstood! Then yeah, if possible, alert the masses, as people might be confused.

  • Oh I see, I totally misread.  If I got an invitation without the address of where to send it, I would just copy it from the return address on the outside envelope.  But you might want to start calling the last couple of people who you think might not have your address on the RSVP envelope.

  • I agree with PP's, reach out to some people and start spreading the word, but as somebody else said, I would probably write in the return address from the invite.

  • You absolutely should contact each guest, I know I throw out the outer envelope right away.
