Hair and Make up - how much?

I was just wondering in any of you can give me some feedback about how much to expect to pay for getting my hair and make up done professionally. I've been quoted $200 for hair and I have no idea if that is too much or not. I haven't started looking for a make-up artist yet, but will be soon. What's a good price? Thanks!

WHen I had my hair and make up done, I paid $100 for both, but I think I got a very good deal....And each of my bridesmaids was $100 as well...

It really depends on what you want also...I didn't want to spend the morning of my wedding running around to different hair and make up places so I knew I wanted to get someone that would come to me.  They are a little more expensive but I can't tell you how amazing and stress-free the morning of my wedding was knowing the lady came to my house and did both my hair and makeup.  It was great, we were on time, we got to all get ready together as a WP, PERFECT!

I used Formal Faces (you can find their link on the Knot Vendors) and although they are expensive you get what you pay for....it was $75 for the trial and about $175 the day of for both my hair AND makeup and that included her traveling time.  The makeup and hair were both totally perfect and stayed in place through the crying and dancing and sweating in the heat.  I can't say enough good things about my expereince, I highly recommend formal faces if you have the money and really want someone to come to you!

I am not really any help here, as I have cosmetologists in the family, so they will be doing my hair and makeup for me. But remember, up dos are going to cost more than a more simple down style. I don't think $200 is crazy unreasonable for an up-do, if they are doing your hair on-site. But I def. think you should look around and get some more prices to compare it to.

    Good luck!

Both of mine are on-site and I'm paying $100 for hair (includes trial) and $150 for make up which includes trial, rehearsal dinner make up, and touch ups before and after the ceremony so, $250 for everything.

I was signing on to ask the same question!

My hair girl (whom I found on this board) is $100 for trial and day of... which I feel good about.

I can't find a make up artist under $150 plus $50 for the trial. I'm not sure if I should just settle for that or find something more reasonable.. its seems like a lot to me.

The girls that are going to do my make-up and hair come to the location that you are getting ready with all of their gear and they charge $150 for the bride's hair and make-up and $75 for each bridesmaid's hair OR make-up (or $150 for both.) I think it's a great deal because of the convenience and they do a fantastic job from what I've seen. They use MAC cosmetics too and give you the lipstick or gloss that they use on you so you have it for the day of the wedding. Good luck!
