Shower question

This question is two-fold. While I am not involved in the planning of my shower, my maid of honor and sister asked me the other day if I would like any tunes played at the shower and if so, which ones. I've been a bridesmaid numerous times, but I don't remember having music played, however, I really like the idea. I think she just means background music (she know me- I'm more of a party girl than a tea-and-biscuits kind of gal). Has anyone here ever been to or planned a shower in which there was any music played?

Also, should I have any little gifts ready for my bridesmaids as a thank-you for the shower? I will definitely have gifts for them at the rehearsal dinner before the wedding to thank them for all that they have done leading up to the wedding, but just wondering if any brides out there did small gestures to thank them (or whoever threw their shower). I was at my sister-in-law's baby shower the other day and she had plants for her mom, mother-in-law and grandmother as a thank-you- but I understand it's a little different than a bridal shower. Let me know :)

I haven't been to any showers that played music as a focal point - but having some music while playing games or gift opening, in the background, would be a nice touch. It's great that your BMs are really coming together to plan a shower for you.

Past bridal showers I have been to I have gotten a small box of chocolates/candies, which was a nice touch (I was a BM in the wedding). Otherwise I don't think it's absolutely necessary. A thoughtful thank you note would suffice.

I gave my aunt (who hosted my bridal shower) a gift at the shower, because I was only in town for a little while and don't see her all that often.  It was a mini LL Bean tote bag, some body wash/lotion, and a local (to me) wine.  I wrote and mailed her a thank you note later, because it seemed inappropriate to prewrite the thank you note.

My shower is tomorrow, and being thrown by my Mama and my fiance's Mom, I'm gonna pick up a bouquet of flowers on the way there for each of them. They've gone completely out of their way to make my shower wonderful and have been cooking ALL day for it. I'm incredibly lucky to have them. ( :

I'm not sure about the music, though I think some music in the background would be just fine. As for the gift for the girls throwing you the shower, I think it sounds like a nice way to say thank you :]
