ceremony decor help!

Im not sure what to do with the cermeony (decor wise). We are going to be on the beach. I wanted to do a nice squared arch with fabrick hang above it, but its going to cost an arm and a leg to get it down there.
Any ideas of what I can do as an alternative?
I also need some ideas of that to do with the aisle! I wanted to do chair ties, but now im not sure.. I was thinking about getting a ton of shells and lining the isle with them instead of petals. Maybe I can mix in candles with that? Im afraid it won't make an impack because of the color of the sand etc..
If i did do that do you think I would be able to like glue the shells to ribbon before hand?
Any other ideas?
Something for the chair? AH!

  • Not sure for the replacement of the arch. But the chairs you could hang mason jars filled with anything, colored sand and a candle, flowers, water and a beta fish in each, OR you could tie ribbons around in your color... would look nice blowing in the breeze. Check out pinterest... there are tons of ideas on there as well...

  • Can you call places near your ceremony site and see if they do rentals? I've even seen arches for rent at Hobby Lobby and Menards on top of all the event places.
I like the idea of ribbons or maybe fabric flowers? They are reallly easy to make.

FYI: I wouldn't do the live fish idea, ppl on these boards get all worked up over it and then the next day you are stuck with figuring out what to do with them. Glass beads or stones with floating flowers or candles would be a better replacment.

  • i am getting married on the beach as well. i am not using an arch, but for the aisle we are using shepard hooks and the florist i have is using these smaller glass vases i bought at the dollar store & she is putting the flowers i chose for my centerpieces and bouquets and hanging them off the hooks with ribbon in my wedding color.  afterwards the vases are just going to line differnt tables, like the DJ & cake table etc.... its very inexpensive!
