Well at first I was going to do the blue mason jars with a some kind of flower... but I came across this photo and I love it because FI and I are avid coffee drinkers... I would also want fuller flowers...

I'm doing something sort of similar to you, I bought several fake flowers made from birchwood shavings (they're gorgeous, I have pics of them in my planning bio). I'll glue them onto styrofoam balls and stick them into little pots so they'd essentially look like mini potted plants :-)

We are probably doing large martini glass vases with floating candles and blue rocks on the bottom, tealights and bling scattered around the martini glass vase.

I think it's fantastic that you guys are all doing something different than the standard centerpieces. I've worked a lot of wedding, as have my friends, and we always talk about how the centerpieces all look the same after a while.

I've gone back and forth with lots of ideas. Right now I have half the tables with lamps- I don't have a picture of the exact lamp, so I am posting the inspiration photo. My lamps have a tall nickel base and a platinum grey shade.

The other half of the tables will have (hopefully!) one orchid plant each.

This way, people will either be able to take home a real, working lamp, or a plant that will lost a long time.

Love all the ideas so far. We are doing llit bottles. Our theme is very tropical so we are doing like parrott bay bottles with lights in them. Ill try to find a picture .

Our reception venue includes centerpieces if we want them. I'm thinking of doing a mix of tables with black lanterns and tables with old coke/pepsi bottles with single gerbera daises (like 3 to a table). They also have large mason jars if I can think of something fun to fill them with. They keep collecting new centerpieces though, so I might have even more options by the time the wedding rolls around.

I want tall tree branches coming out of skinny vases but FI wants something lower with flowers in it. So I am thinking we might do a mix of the 2.

Kind of like these but def. a little different.
