Chinese Lanterns

Do any of you ladies have any experiences to share (good and bad) with the Chinese floating lanterns? I've found a groupon for them and the website "claims" that they are 100% biodegradable and flame resistant but my main concern would be the litter afterwards. whether its truly biodegradable or not, i cant imagine waking up with 150+ paper lanterns on my lawn would be very fun. I saw an idea on another sight that talked about balloons with a small light inside of them that the guests could release, That solves the flame issue but still not the litter, any suggestions?

    Personally, I would love to be able to have Chinese lanterns to release at the end of the wedding... BUT, it's against the law in my state (SC). So, I would definitely check with the fire department before you start worrying about the litter. They might make the decision for you.

    anyone have any idea of what a good amount of sky lanterns to purchase would be? I have about 130 guests for the wedding.
