Bridal shower questions...

What the heck are you suppose to wear to one? lol.  I wore jeans to mine but mine was also suppose to be a "surprise" so had I woren a dress or something my mom would have known that I knew and since she was so excited I didn't want her to know I knew... even to this day she doesn't know I knew about it lol.  I would usually wear nice dark jeans, heels, and dressy/cute/pretty shirt... is that too casual for a bridal shower?  What would you or do you hope your guests will wear to your bridal shower?  Or do you even care? lol

Also... should I shop off the registry or get something for the bride like lingerie or something nice for her to do before or after the wedding?  Since I didn't register everyone got me lingerie and 98% of still has the tags on it which makes me kind of want to stay away from that.
Thanks ladies !!!

I think it is safe to assume you are refering to my bridal shower. You should of said "Erica Don't Read" In your title. LOL.
You always dress so cute so I think that whatever you want to wear will be fine. I am planning on wearing that long purple dress I bought with you. You can shop off my registry or you can definately buy me some sexy stuff to wear. Chad will really like that. I'm a small/ medium in bottoms and a 34C. Just get a gift recepit just in case it doesn't fit.

I would wear a dress or dress pants, not jeans, if it were me. And the gift is a call you'd have to make from knowing the bride. I, for one, was really happy to get so much off my registry since I'm not big on people gifting me lingerie (I think that's kind of personal and prefer to buy it for myself). But if she's like you and has little or no registry something nice for her would be plenty sufficient, maybe a spa gift certificate?

I love to wear dresses, so I would wear a cute sundress or something.  But dark jeans, heels and a cute top is also a good option.  As far as gifts, I usually get something off the registry.  At least you know it's something they wanted.

Last bridal shower i went to, I had on dark jeans, cute top and some heels! I was fine with that!

I would shop off the registry and then maybe get something like a sexy lingerie at another time. My friend had her parents there and her DH's parents there as well...lingerie wouldnt have been the best choice at that time! hehe!

I wore a cute sundress to my own and was happy when my guest had on similiar stuff but wouldn't have really minded if someone was wearing jeans and a cute top! I guess it depends on the time of day and type of shower. I wanted a traditional, girly shower because it was the only one I was going to have so dresses were it for me.

My mom got me lingerie and I begged her to give it to me the night before my shower instead. I'm not shy AT ALL but I didn't want to make other ppl (esp FMIL) feel awkward oohing and aahing over my sexy underwear. Maybe give it to your friend privately?

For me, It depends on the person. If the person lives in jeans and shorts, I would assume they would want to be dressed more casual. But for others I might wear nice pants and a more dressy top.  I don't usually wear dresses to them unless I know other people will be as well or if it was specified that it's like a tea party or something.

As far as the gift, I typically buy off the registry. I know we received a few things that weren't on the registry. And while I really appreciate the thought and effort, we just can't use some of them, so they will sit in a closet for a long time.

I didn't really care what my guests wore...except when my cousin came in looking so damn cute in a brand new little dress and the cutest accessories!!! I was like WTF..you are NOT supposed to look cuter than the BRIDE!!! lol!
Also, I would say you are always safe getting something off the registry...have fun!
