Wedding Video Opinions

Fiancé thinks a wedding video isn't needed, since we have a photographer. I disagree. Anyone not do a video & regret it? opinions?

Yes, I regret not having a video of my weddnig. 13 years ago, I asked my then future sister-in-law to bring the Hi-8 camera to record the event.  She forgot the camera, and we were stuck with only photos.  While photography is also a must, there's nothing like being able to rewind the best man's toast, the father-in-law's squeaky voice, or that crazy garter throw....Spend the money for a dedicated videographer and photographer.  You're not simply paying for the service, you're investing in captured moments and building memories. The videographer's camera, will be both on you, everywhere you can't see.  A wedding video is the first chapter in a long line of family videos you'll buld from.

We're not hiring a videographer, but I'm going to see if anyone in my family will bring their video camera. I don't care if its all edited and pretty, I just want a raw video.

Ahh come on now.  Go for the pro video.  I'm sure you can find an extra $200 - $300 for a dedicated pro.  If not, Be sure to dedicate an area of about 15 feet from you and the groom for the shoot, and please us a tri-pod and no fast pans or zooms.  Best of Wishes!
