Fun or Unique Touches?

What are your fun or unique touches you've added to make your wedding stand out?

We have glow necklaces and foam glow sticks to pass out late night on the dance floor and will have a sparkler grand exit :-) We also have a photobooth. Wish we had some fun late night snack to hand out!

    I'm not sure if these are unique things but we are having a dessert table (tiramisu shooters, shortcake shooters, bourbon pecan pie bites) and a photobooth.


    We are also having sparklers for the grand exit! They are 36" so they burn for like 4 mins --plenty of time to get some good pics!

    I love my directional sign!

    We're also having stripe-y straws (which I've loved since I first saw them in photos on SMP), late-night mini cheesesteaks (wedding is in Philly), and a chocolate fountain. Oh and I bought sunglasses for the whole bridal party for photos.

    A bunch of other things but those are the ones I'm most excited about!

    We are having an outdoor ceremony and we are serving homemade lemonade in mason jars as refreshments before the ceremony. Kind of like this:
    except we have prettier serving jugs and the mason jars have handles. We are also passing out personalized silk fans so guests can fan themselves if it's hot.

    We are having cannolis and cupcakes instead of traditional cake.  Unfortunately we can't do any forms of sparklers :(.  We also have a photobooth!

    FI and I got meaninful to us matching tattoos on the inside of our left arm in Key West last december.  We thought it would make for a very neat wedding pic with our rings - still not sure how we're going to pose them though logistically lol   :)  

    All my wedding jewelry is chocolate diamonds.....  and FI's shows are patent leather custom converse.  :)

    Our signature drink is a sangria that I make for just about every occasion, and the groom's "cake" is peach pies, b/c FI doesn't like cake.  We'll also be driving away in a vintage truck.

    Instead of cake for dessert we're having an ice cream truck come & guests can pick out whatever treat they want.

    Since our ceremony & reception are at a park, we're bringing games for guests to play after lunch- bocce ball, ladder golf.

    We have bubble wands for the kids to play with as well.

    We're having cakes on each table as our centerpieces.  Along with the traditonal cookie table (Western PA tradition) and our wedding cake we're going to have a lot of desserts!

    We're doing pie for FI too!! He isn't a big cake fan and when I asked him what kind of cake he wanted our wedding cake to be, he said "pie" lol I still don't know what kind, but I think my mom is planning to bake a couple. It actually hasn't been brought up recently, so I guess we should probably talk about that soon...

    We're having quite a few unique/fun touches. My favorite three so far are releasing 50 sky lanterns, a firework show and we're being announced at the reception to The Rocks theme song. I'm going to carry the belt and kind of be like FI's side kick and everyone else is going to have a wrestler themed prop.

    We aren't using any of the traditional music and instead of normal wedding reception food we are having grilled hamburgers, baked beans, and potato salad. Grilled hamburgers is our favorite food. Also both of my parents are walking me down the aisle instead of just my daddy.

    We are having cupcakes instead of cake, and a grooms cake the night before which is a Gambit (from X-Men) cake! And in the last hour of the reception we will have sliders and fries and chocolate milk. Oh and during tea and coffee you can also have hot chocolate because I love hot chocolate.

    We are doing stripey straws, too... lol.

    I am really excited for our whiskey bar! It'll be right next to one of the regular bars, but will have some top shelf whiskeys (some of which we are bringing over from the UK, some of which we're getting there).

    I'm also really excited for our RD. We are doing this fake bride / negotiation thingy from FI's Croatian heritage that should be really fun. It's really difficult to explain, so I'm not even going to try lol.

    Our wedding party are all wearing their own clothes and none of it matches! My FI made cornhole boards with our monogram on them, my FI made a photo booth, my FI made a here comes the bride sign for our here comes the bride girl (are you sensing who's the crafty one in our house?), we're using deer and elk antlers EVERYWHERE!, we're dancing outside. 

    I love the ice cream truck, the directional sign, and the vintage truck! 
    And the conan cutout! That is amazing!

    But my FI said he couldn't come to the wedding. Kill joy.

    My unique touch doesn't really involve our guests.  I have a tiara that I am wearing for the reception.  I wore the tiara on my first date with FI.  It was my senior year homecoming dance and it was a halloween theme. So I always wanted to wear it for our wedding, but with the flowers in my hair during the ceremony I thought there would be a little too much going on with my hair during the ceremony. So I am wearing the tiara at the reception and taking the flowers out.

    Crash away! I'd love to see you guys!

    I guess our food is kind of unique too...we're just doing a light lunch with cold cut sandwiches, potato salad, fruit & chips. Sticking with the picnic theme. Oh, for drinks I'm buying Crystal Light packets and will have those out for guests to add to their bottles of water. It was my way of getting lemonade in. We'll have pop as well. And we're doing the divided plates because FI and I hate our food touching. It's kind of an inside joke with our families.

    I love everyone's ideas! July '12 brides will have the BEST weddings on TK. Hands down! Good job girls!
