Baby Shower Venues

So, I offered to host a baby shower for one of my good friends, and we have tentatively scheduled it for June 4th or 5th. The only problem? I waited too long to book my apartment's clubhouse (which is sad, because it would have been the perfect space!) and now have no clue where I'm going to hold it. There's no way I can fit 20 people in my 2-bedroom apartment.

Does anyone have any inexpensive suggestions for this? Private rooms at restaurants? Nice-ish park pavilions? Smaller conference rooms at hotels? I would love to self-cater it... but if I can't... I'll just have to deal with it and pay a little more for food.

Hmm.. if you have a church, you could check with them about a meeting area - otherwise maybe community centers?

Bummer on the club room. Is there a part of town you'd like to stay in? I'm also thinking a community rooms might be the best route. A restaurant would also be a great option, but I assume that could get expensive.

I live in Minnetonka and the guest of honor lives in Corcoran, so the western side of the 'burbs would be ideal... but I really don't care at this point. I'd go just about anywhere if it was cute, available, and affordable.

I don't go to a church, so that option's out... and I have no idea where to even start looking for community centers. I know of a few, but I'm drawing a blank otherwise. Any in particular that you guys know of?

Call the cities, or check out their websites (i.e. http://www.ci.plymouth.mn.us/index.aspx?page=101) . The only ones I know anything about are the Eden Prairie ones - I am using the Homeward Hills Barn for my rehearsal, you could try that? Its only $100 to rent.

I would try looking at the City of Minnetonka Community Center:

And also searching for facilities using the Three Rivers Park District website (http://www.threeriversparks.org/). Here are a couple of links to Park facilities that looked promising.

Can you ask anyone else if they have apartments with a party room? My friend was so awesome and let us use her condo's party room, even though she wasn't in my wedding party or hosting the shower.
