I'm going to my normal hair salon and getting everything done. My hair never cooperates when I do it and need it to look good and I'm awful at makeup. It's my treat to myself for my wedding! Plus my hairstylist is amazing and she always makes it look awesome!
I forgot to add, I just booked my makeup artist! Yay! And for my hair, I have the stylist who did my hair for my grad seven years ago coming up for my wedding. She says I have no say in the matter. She is the only stylist in the world I would trust to do my hair...especially if I don't have a say!
From a stylist's point of view, it's usually the bridesmaids or the MOB who are more stressful to deal with than the bride, but you get brides who are doozies as well. I hope I'm not one of those!
I just booked my hairdresser this week. Well she only gave me an 80% certanty that she can do it, but I am willing to wait until spring to confirm if it means I can have her. She has been my hairdresser for the last 7 years so it would be great to have her do my hair. As for what I am doing I am not sure yet, as I didnt buy the dress yet it is hard to imagine, though I am leaning towards putting it up... However my FI loves my long hair and has asked me to save it even longer for the wedding which I agreed to do, so perhaps it would be silly to put all that long hair up and away? Ah we will see. As for makeup I think I will do it myself with ID-bare minearls makeup. I was made up once by a professional makeup artist, it was for my sisters wedding, and I was so unhappy with the results I really dont wanna take that chance for my wedding. I am not one for wearing lots of makeup, I never wear makeup during the week, so dont want to go over the top for the wedding either. I do think however that I have to hire an extra hair dresser and makeup artist for the BMs and other wedding guests. As we will all be "stuck" at the same hotel in a small village where there is nowhere else to go they willl all have to rely on what I can manage to book, so that is an extra thing to organise. Think I have to get an idea of how many people actually want a hair dresser or make up artist in advance just to be sure that one of each would be enough...

It is a nice treat! Plus it will be much more relaxing :)
Getting both done! My normal hair stylist is doing my hair...this is something she did recently and I *love* it. Her curls win me over! Her is a pic of something she has done...
But this is my inspiration pic
And makeup, I will be using the same girl who did our airbrush makeup for one of my BFF's weddings...looking at something similar to this...dramatic eye but romantic
One of my bridesmaids is a hairdesser/makeup artist and she has offered to do mine for free as a wedding gift!!! Debating whether i want airbrush makeup or not because last time she did airbrush makeup me it bothered me once i got hot and was in the sun too long.
I'm having both come to the church as that will be where we all get dress/ready at. I had planned to get myself and the girls all make up and hair done but after I thought about it I don't feel like any of the girls would want there hair and make up done. So I decided to just go with having my own done. I will also have my photographer there at this time to catch photos

I'm using Captivate by Aleigha -- a privately owned local business. The owner (Aleigha, of course) is fantastic and is actually now my regular hairstylist. I can't wait for the trial for hair and makeup (she does both) and the pictures I've seen are gorgeous. If she can make me look half as pretty as she made her past clients, I'll be more than happy:D
ETA: This is a little off topic, but if you're planning on asking your BMs if they'd like to get hair and/or makeup done professionally (not requiring them to, but giving them the option) how far in advance are you contacting them about this?

Posted by jlm9113[/QUOTE] I think if you've booked already booked a person for makeup, you can ask your BM now. It doesn't hurt, I asked my girls and told them the cost ($40 each). I might just pay for it in the end if they want it, but it's totally up to them.
I'm having my hair done at the salon across the street from my condo. I have never been there before, I plan to start going. I just think being across the street is super convenient. its the next best thing to having a stylist come in.
As for my makeup, I will likely do it myself. I find it stupid expensive to have a makeup artist come in. I looked into it and they charge 100 for the bride only or 65 each for 4+ people. I'm not comfortably to ask my girls to get their make up done professionally and its really not in the budget to pay for everyone.
My photographer put me at ease about doing my own makeup when we did our engagement photos. When we booked him he highly reccomended using a MUA so when we were getting ready to do our Eshoot, I was stressing out over whether or not to pay for a MUA for our photos. I ended up doing it myself to save some money and near the end of my shoot he asked who did my makeup (i think he was curious to know if it was the MUA he reccomended) When I told him I did it myself, he said it looked great and it was well done.
So I feel confident I can do my own makeup for the wedding.
~~Sept 2013 Brides - January Siggy - Floral Inspiration~~
Yea, my MUA was $100 for bride, $40 for bridesmaids. $100 included a trial and lashes, it seemed like a lot but makeup tends to melt off my face so I thought I'd have a running chance if it were done by a professional.
I heard awsome reviews on my local Knot boards about a makeup artist in Cincinnati who does airbrush and I booked her immediately upon becoming engaged. She is coming to our venue to my makeup, my MOH and each of the mothers if they so choose.
As for my hair, my regular hairdresser has offered to do my hair, but because I have naturally curly hair I am frightened to let anyone touch it but myself. Soo, I'm wearing mine down and putting something fancy in my hair as an accent.
I'm excited. I can't wait for the pampering experience and mimosas!! :-)
I am having one salon come to us to do our hair and another company (well one girl who owns her own company) come to do our makeup. I am asking the BMs to get their hair professionally done and giving them each $30 towards the bill. I offered the makeup services to those BM who want it, but im not requiring they get it done.
I asked them all recently as I needed a head count in order to book these services. Since we need them to travel to me, I needed to know I would at least have 4 people for each.
