Intro and Helping my Bride

Hello all!

My BFF has recently gotten engaged and asked me to be the MOH.  I think I'm more excited for her than she is!!

I used The Knot to plan my wedding just over 2 years ago and I remember the girls on the forums to be totally helpful.  I was hoping for a little guidance.  She is not a planner, and so I'm trying to help in whatever ways I can.

I'm wanting to take her wedding dress shopping, but neither one of us have any idea where to go.  I want her to have the "full experience"  Be waited on hand and foot, made to feel like a princess.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

  • If your willing to travel, Allegria Bridal in Belmont, MA is phenomenal. The salon itself is gorgeous and really gives you that upscale feel. The ladies there were always great to us when we went.

  • Alfred Angelo was really helpful when I took my MIL. Classy and professional! Of course, if she's willing to drop thousands, Kleinfeld's in NY!!

  • Well, we're not going to actually buy the dress at that particular shop.  Traveling is okay.  Although NY probably out of the question.  She has a specific dress in mind but I figure we can bring pictures and get a general idea.

Thanks for your help.  I'll check Allegria.   Thanks Ladies!
  • White Dress by the Shore in Clinton, CT is another one that goes above and beyond.  The gowns are gorgeous and the experience is top notch!
  • Also in MA is Country Brides.
I have heard amazing things about it there. It is in Hingham. Which is a fun trip becuse there are some outlets there, including a talbots outlet (that has dress pants for liek $5) and also some nice restaurants and shops.

Definitely bring photos of the dress she loves, but if you can coach her to have an open mind to try on other styles she might be surprised! I was! The dress i got was nothing like I thought I wanted, but the sales girl picked it out for me and I figured, Why not! I loved it!
