Centerpiece question

Hi, my fiance and I are thinking about using live plants as a centerpiece rather than cut flowers. Mostly because it will save money and also because we like the idea of it being something that could be saved. We were originally thinking of just using herbs but we also really like the idea of mini rose plants. Have you guys ever heard of someone doing this? Would it be a little odd?

I think it's great. I especially love herbs. I had thought of that at one time, but it doesn't quite go with my fall theme.

I think it's a great idea! My parents actually had ferns (ok, it was the 80s) as the decorations for the ceremony at their wedding. They gave each attendent one and then kept one for themselves, it's still alive 29 years later!

Yeah its a great idea, Are you just going to put them in nice pots so their ready to take home or do you have some other idea in mind? It will match your venue/theme very nicely.

I've seen photos of it on blogs, and it looks really pretty when couples use live plants. I think you'd do fine with herbs or mini roses, whichever you prefer. I'd also suggest looking around at some bulk stores, or at antique or second-hand shops for used vases that coordinate.

Definitely, people do it a lot! I was going to mix in some potted herbs with mine but ended up with too many vases

And you could do both - roses and herbs.

I think it's a great idea. Either the roses or the herbs. And I have 15 white 6 inch ceramic pots for sale. I can pull a few photos from my CDs to show you if you're interested.
