This completely baffles me....

I just found out about something an ex-friend did over the weekend, and I had to share. I thought you ladies might find this rather amusing.

Ex-friend threw herself an engagement party over the weekend. This bothers me for many reasons (besides the fact that she threw herself a party):

1) She has been engaged for an entire year. Now most people would say that isn't too horrible but keep reading.

2) She already had an engagement party. A second one? Really?

3) One of her best friends recently got engaged. I can't help but think that  ex-friend is doing this as a way to throw it in her face somehow. (Ex-friend is very competitive over stupid things, thus us no longer being friends)

And lastly....get ready for this one....

SHE IS ALREADY MARRIED!!!!! She got married soon after being engaged but is trying to keep it a "secret" so people still sit through her wedding.

I really don't get it. Someone please explain this behavior to me...

    That's ridiculous. 

    I don't know if your town publishes marriage licenses in the paper, but if they do  - I would write on her FB wall "I saw you got a marriage license in the paper!!! I didn't even know you were engaged!!!! So excited for you!!!"  All fake, I know, but I would totally out her if she's that horrendous.

    Wow.  How very classy of her.  I actually enjoy marissa's suggestion about posting on her fb wall and outing her.  But then I'm feeling mean and spiteful today.

    That's nuts.  Ditto Banana. 

    And I know what you mean when you talk about friends who try to make everything a competition.  I have an ex-friend who is competitive on a few fronts...especially academics and dating.  She still, to this day, complains to mutual friends about the fact that I edged her out for being valedictorian in high school, nearly 12 years ago.  What's worse, I haven't spoken to her in about seven years.  I can't stand people like that who have to make everything a competition.

    </div><div>Although the ex friend of the OP sounds like a fool. I would not go the FB route. It is evil and you should rise above that type of behavior. Although it would be fun...everybody has a mean streak right??...you might end up wishing you hadn't later. </div>
