outfit for engagement photo session

Did you take engagement photos?  What did you wear?  What should I wear?  We are hoping to do ours on Saturday at the beach.  I was thinking of asking FI to wear a button down with sleeves rolled up and jeans, which would be dressed up a little for him on a non-work day (he usually wears plain t-shirts).

We didn't do E-photos but I agree that if we did, I'd want him to be a little dressier than normal. Although it might be fun for you guys to bring two outfits and have one be a little more casual.

we did ours a couple weeks ago (and i can't wait to see them!! grrr!!)

i wore jeans rolled up a little with some cute platform wedges and a nice sleeveless top. FI wore jeans and a button down with the sleeves rolled up  just like you said, dressier than usual but still casual enough for where we were (a national park). i think its really important for you to be comfortable, and just remember to stay away from crazy patterns as they don't photograph well.

can't wait to see your pics!!

we just did ours on saturday at the beach. i just wore jeans and a navy top with a bit of a frill, and he wore jeans with a blue striped dress shirt. pretty standard wear for us. we wanted to look like we weren't clashing, but also didn't want to match.

I'm wondering the same thing, we're doing ours either next weekend or the first weekend in june, depending on weather. I'd want to be a bit formal but not "dressy". I was also wondering about pattern....I'd think the more solid color the better, so you aren't clashing or whatever.

    Thanks for these suggestions!

I asked our photographer for tips, and here they are, since there are others that are wondering: she said to have several options available, but she likes the classic solid black/dark brown/navy top with jeans or dark pants.  FI should go for solids, but I could bring something with some brighter color or pattern to try.

Holy cow I'm not loving looking back at a heavier me, but we did three outfits (well, three shirts, for changing ease, kept the same pants and a tanktop):

Two with our "regular" clothes, he's a tshirt and jeans guy, and I'm a non tshirt top (if you get what I mean, not a blouse, but more than a tshirt) and jeans girl.  Then one somewhat dressier.

Thanks for sharing those, Jena!  Those outfits/looks are what we are going for, so very helpful.  Great photos!
