Which hairstyle should I work on?

I can't remember if I mentioned this to you guys, but I'm in charge of doing my own updo at the wedding I'm in in a couple weeks time.

I'm AWFUL with hair, so this is my first time really playing about with attempting to do it. And, because my hair is SO fine, there are flyaways all over the place. I don't know what to do about them!

Anyway, which of the two hairstyles do you think I should put my energy into trying to get right? They're about the same level of difficulty.

Sorry for the blurry pics, I was trying to photograph myself...

Option 1: Roll + crossover braids

Option 2: Messy curls and loops at the back (though I didn't know I was supposed to curl my hair first)

WOW!  You are talented!  I love the look of the 2nd -- really quite polished and it looks salon-done to me.  If the level of effort isn't terribly different, I say to go for the second.  Also, it seems more forgiving to flyaways and any hairs that don't fall in line since it has so much texture to begin with.  If I were required to do my own updo, I would have a bun.  With a giant claw clip.  LOL.

This really did make me LOL! That's my default hairstyle at school.

I've been practicing in front of double mirrors with youtube tutorials. It's ridiculous!

I like the idea of #1, but #2 looks prettier in practice, and I agree that you're more likely able to pull it off minus flyaways.

P.S. One of my BMs has really fine hair, and she did a messy side bun that she learned how to do on youtube.  It was beautiful, and very forgiving to flyaways (since the idea is that it's messy to start with).  You might consider that, as well.

Wow you did great.  I like the second one the best.  I also think it is more forgiving if you do have fly aways.

I like #2 best as well, and agree on the whole spray hair spray on your hands and then run your hands over the fly aways  so they can be slick down.

Alright, I think #2 it is! Fingers crossed it'll be disaster free!

Both are cute, but my vote is for #2. Good luck!
