We found our wedding site. New to the board :)

My FI and are both avid bow hunters so we having a camo themed wedding. It will be in accents so not over the top. I went today and look at a lodge that has a pond and a huge lawn to have the ceremony! It is perfect.

It is a casual wedding so we will have bridesmaids in fushia sun dresses (have found those), groomsmen in white button up shirts, camo ties and brown dress pants. My FI is wearing white button up with a camo vest and brown pants. I haven't decided on the dress.

Dress question, Full camo with fushia accents that's short or long dress that has a camo bodice and pink accents? It will be June 1st in NC.

Also we will go simple for the centerpieces and want to do vintage lanterns if we can find them. Our cake will be traditional with camo ribbon around each layer and pink flowers on top.

I know most probably won't be a fan of a camo themed wedding but it really suits us well and people kind of expect that kind of thing from us!

If camo is your thing then rock it!

I notice you're in NC and I believe they recently opened an IKEA in Charlotte; I know it's not "vintage" lanterns but they typically sell affordable little lanterns that hold tea lights. If you can't find the vintage ones you're looking for it might be a good option.

The dresses I can't really picture in my head so I can't offer advice on that right now but is there one you're more drawn to? I googled camo dresses to get an idea and I have to admit most of them are a lot cuter than I was imagining. Sorry to threadjack but I love this one:

It sounds like you'll have a beautiful wedding and best of luck to you with planning everything!

Yippee!! We, too, are doing a camo themed wedding!!! We are both hunters and it seemed to fit us well :) As for the dress, are you planning on doing anything at the reception that a long dress would get in the way? Also, what are temps like in NC in the summer? (Would a long dress be too hot, or a short dress be too cool?)
On a side note, I am glad you could find a nice lodge and pond in your area. In AZ, it proved to be quite tricky finding somewhere to fit our personalities

Are you doing a full camo dress? It will be hot during the day and cooler in the evening. A shorter dress would be easier but I don't want to look like I'm wearing a prom dress. We wouldn't be doing anything at the reception where the dress would be in the way except keg stands.............JUST KIDDING!

I agree with the ladies that you should think through what dress is most functional for you. There's also the option if you think a long dress would get in the way with dancing to have a 'reception dress'. That's what I'm having, only spent $100 on it, its literally JUST for the partying. My dress is a rather large, slightly poufy gown and I wanted to be able to have fun later so after the toasts, first dances, etc I am changing into a shorter dress :)

[QUOTE]Do you have pics of the dresses? This city girl is having trouble coming up with a mental image :P Second Ikea as a lantern suggestion. A lot of people have luck with dollar stores, too.

Also debating if I like the orange accent better then pink because it goes more with the hunting theme. Decisions, decisions.......

[QUOTE]Thanks! I agree with you on short #2 or long #2 (though I'd see about moving the sash). Without the orange netting sticking out underneath, short #1 is also cute. I think the netting makes it look a bit prom-ey, though. I think I like long #1 with black underneath, but not the other colors. There's something about the contrast that hits me wrong. These are super fun :)

I think the more I look at them the more I fall in love with short dress #2! Thanks for your help :)

I prefer short #2 to short #1, and although I love long #2, if you aren't comfortable I like the other better. You need to feel comfortable with your body in your dress on your wedding day!!!

Short #2 looks super cute! I think you'd sweat buckets in long dress #1 in NC during the summer and think long dress #2 is cute as well.

I like the pink accents more than orange but that's just my personal taste; go with what makes you feel great.

I am unsure about my dress yet :( Although I would love to do full camo, I would like a short dress, and I don't like any of the short dresses I have found online. (Actually, I don't think my short, stubby self would look as good in any of the all camo short length dresses I have found) I am going back and forth between a few white or off-white dresses, that I would add a camo sash to. Dress link at bottom of post if you would like to give me insight :)

We are also doing lanterns on our tables. Since we are having a small wedding (approx 35 people), we will be using 6 picnic style tables. I am planning on doing beige/natural table clothes with mossy oak runners down the middle. On the runners will be one metal bucket with sunflowers and greenery and two lanterns (one on each side of the bucket). I found the lanterns for $6 each at sportsmans warehouse (you can order them online if there is not one in your area). I am debating whether I want to keep the lanterns the "natural" red color, or paint them with crackle paint to give them a more rustic look.
Dress thoughts (all would have a camo sash/bow added)
