What's Facebook got to do with it?

So I've read a few posts where the OP mentions FB and I'm starting to be a bit annoyed. I understand wedding planning is exciting but shouldn't be off the social boards? Do i sound bitter? haha.
I'm still a newbie / lurker btw.

Re: What's Facebook got to do with it?

  •  I guess it depends on how people want to advertise their wedding/proposal. I want to keep it a "secret" so that my wedding theme is a surprise, but sometimes I just can't help myself! :) Also I know that I ask my FB friends advice, and I only do that because they know who I am and what I would like.

  • Oh I'm sorry, I meant FB Issues. like "My Moh doesn't tag me or talk about my wedding" haha.
  •  Hahahaha My bad!

  • I try to keep as much wedding related stuff off of Facebook as possible. As soon as I got engaged and changed my status, I had people hounding me about being invited to the wedding and one person went so far as to ask if they'd be in my wedding party - a person, mind you, I hadn't really talked to off of Facebook since high school.

So to avoid things getting messy, I keep it off Facebook. So no wedding-related Facebook drama for me. :)

  • Basically FI and I post minimal stuff on FB. When we first got engaged we waited about a week to post anything on FB. Reason being is we wanted to let family and close friends know first before posting it for everyone to know. I may say simple stuff like "Super excited for the wedding show this weekend" or "Found our photographer after much searching" but I don't post details or any pictures of wedding planning and neither does our bridal party.

  • Completely agree!  The less information posted on social media the better.<img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />

  • I don't have any info about my wedding on Facebook. I did put when I got engaged on there but I didn't mention how he did it. I have over 600 friends and they don't need to know all the personal details about my wedding.
