MORE DRAMA, REALLY!?

So...

Family sucks.

All I have time to say right now is you mess with my most prized possession and the ginger fury will roll all over your head.

The end.

Re: MORE DRAMA, REALLY!?

  • Oh boy...I hope you don't go off the deep end!
  • I hope things work out
  • oh dear.  Your family has been a major source of drama and contention through this planning process.

*hugs* hope everything turns out ok.

OK, I have a bit more time now.

Basically... FI's family was *going to* (hopefully it won't happen now) have a "confrontation" for FI on Sunday. FI's best friend (who is also my brother-in-law) went to my mom and wanted her to join. She said absolutely not, that they were doing the absolute wrong thing and she came to us and let us know what was going on.

Supposedly it won't be happening now, but still. And as for what it was about?

    I'll tell you...

Basically, everyone feels taht he isn't spending enough time with them... He's either been working full time, a 18 credit hour college stuent AND working full time, or working 60 hours a week for the last 5 or so years... They say I am "a whole other story" which I'm not entirely sure what that means.

They say he's "changed" i.e. matured and grown up. My mom said she doesn't see anything in FI that needs addressing, except his overwhelming joy and happiness over his life right now. (She was being sarcastic. Gotta love my mom.)

What's even worse is that we TRY to hang out with these people. They always cancel on us or decide playing with their car is way more important. (This week I was going to cook dinner for everyone and even made a dessert especially for the family. FI's brother said he'd rather work on his car, who is one of the people saying he doesn't spend enough time with him.) The dessert is still sitting in my freezer, btw.

As for FI's best friend/Best man/my brother-in-law...we try to have double dates with him and his wife but they ALWAYS always cancel. How is this our fault??

UGH. Am I across the country in Seattle yet?!? :(

    Side note: Most prized possession=FI

  • So, they don't think he's spending enough time with them, yet they cancel on you guys when you do make plans?

SMH.    Are they trying to say that it's your fault or something that he's crazy busy?  18 credits in school is a lot, and that's something that he's chosen to do in addition to working so much, but they should understand that that sort of thing doesn't leave someone a whole lot of free time, it's not like he's sitting around at home with you and ignoring his family.

At least the wedding will be here before you know it!  This too, shall pass.
