How much to get from India?

So We have booked our flights to India. We are going from Dec. 28 - Jan 18th. We were suppose to go later, but my cousin might get married (definately engaegd) so we are going to see that!

Anyways now I have to get things together for my trip. Can you think of anything else I can get over there?
My list now:
 - Veil
- BM Saris (my cousin already ordered this)
- BM jewerly
- My Manthagodi Sari + jewerly
- FI's Sherwani for reception
- Outfits for the different events
- Programs for the ceremony (need to make)
- Invitations (need to order)

Can you guys think of anything else?

    Exciting :)

Looks like you've already got the big things covered!!

I know some people on the board got their favours from there (or sangeet favours like churiyan)
What shoes is your hubby wearing?  If he's getting juthiya (sp?) you can get them from there...

I was going to say favors as well. Or gift boxes/bags for favors, I am sure you can get them on the cheap there.

Also, if you want to get customized table linens or runners, etc. you would be able to get that done there or ordered while you're visiting.

Do you need anything special for your ceremony for your priest to use or during your vows? You can pick that up as well there.

    Thanks girls

The favors are going to be little shot glasses engraved with candy in them. So I dont' think I can get them there.
@ MrsBM -- we don't do a sangeet so I don't need anything for it. I do need to see about the shoes though.
@Raagoli -- I think I have everything covered for the ceremony.. I hope!

Were you thinking of any gifts for those that are helping you out?  We got extra saris with simple matching bangles for relatives that helped out with the cooking, and any aspect of the wedding...

Does your FI need a matching turban? or turbans to the different events? cufflinks?  shoes?

Any of the flowers that are pre-designed to hang up in the bride's home, or where the pre-wedding events will be hosted at?

    Any additional decor?

Any fancy or not fancy indian table clothes or havan/pooja cloths for the ground, for guests to sit on, instead of just plain white sheets?

    Colored rice for the kunda?

Chalk / colored rice for raangolis?

Thank you cards, that are blank on the inside? Like this link

Any aisle decorations? or Statues for the main entrance?  These could be re-used in your home...

kpwedkk -- I'll add the gifts to the list! If I can find them it would be great to get there! Thanks

You are aware I'm a Christian Indian. We have turbans or Raangolis or elephants or those kinds of statues. Thanks for the ideas though.

I'm aware, but just throwing out the ideas in case others might be missing things for their wedding :)

Gifts in India, are super cheaper than what you can get them in the states for :)  I hope it works out!  I love going to the bangle bazaar, you can't get me out heheh!
