Help me!!! I am having both my father and step father walk me down the aisle!! So now I have to come up with 2 songs for a father daughter dance, and am having a problem coming up with 1. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Instead of doing 2 dances, have you thought of splitting one dance with both your Dad and Stepdad?  That way you don't have to come up with 2 songs, and also its one less spotlight dance which gets your guests up and dancing that much sooner.  Just a thought.

I'm not sure if you're looking for a very emotional song or something more vaguely sentimental, but here are a few suggestions of each:

    Very Emotional
    Butterfly Kisses - Bob Carlisle
I Loved Her First - Heartland
My Little GIrl - Tim McGraw

Less Over The Top But Still Nice
    Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong
Can You Feel the Love Tonight - Elton John
Isn't She Lovely - Stevie Wonder

Ditto Robyn... I'm not a fan of standing and watching several "special" dances (bride/groom, father/daughter, stepfather/daughter, mother/groom).

In terms of the song selection, I am not much help since I am letting my dad pick our song and I haven't heard back from him yet.  The only other one I can think of to add to Robyn's list is Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman.

THats what I had wanted to do Robin....but everyone acted like I was being rude. my father is also physically impaired so I thought it would be easier for him if he didn't have to dance as long. Maybe I will just put my foot down and do things the way I want. Thanks for the help girls!!!

Happy to help!  I hope your family comes around and backs you up.

And Naomi - that cake is GORGEOUS!  I love how its slightly rustic while still being blow-you-away beautiful.

Speaking as a fellow bride with both a father and a step-father, I would caution you about splitting the dance between the two.  It's completely understandable that you would want to keep things short for your guests, but your father may well have been looking forward to this moment since the day you were born and he might be hurt if he has to share it with another man. However, since I don't know you or your family at all, I could be completely mistaken. Smile

We're using an edited version of "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw (with the part about him thinking FI wasn't good enough edited out!), and one of my close friends used "In My Life" by The Beatles.  "In My Life" isn't quiet as sappy as other songs, but it's still a very nice song.

I'm dancing to "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisle. My dad doesn't know it yet  :-) He made me a DVD when I graduated high school of pictures over the years, and that song was in it. It makes me cry everytime I hear it.
