Seen anything recently that everyone else already saw?

The Hunger Games just hit Netflix instant streaming, and I'm ridiculously excited because I missed the bandwagon last year and didn't see it in theaters. Anyone else missed the boat on something?

Re: Seen anything recently that everyone else already saw?

  • Haha the first time I saw The Hunger Games was on an airplane on my way back from a wedding last summer. The kid sitting in front of me was watching it on the tv screen in front of him so I just watched through the crack of the seat lol.

I can't think of anything right now that I missed the boat on...something will pop into my head probably.

I read/watched all the HP books/movies well after everyone else. I didn't discover the amazingness until about a year ago thanks to the ladies here.

I also didn't read/watch Twilight until a year or 2 ago. I haven't seen the last movie yet.

Hmm I can't think of anything else! Go watch HG now, please and thank you :)

<div>Don't tell elle, but I've never seen all the HP movies. I watched about an hour of one of the Twilight movies and couldn't do it anymore.</div><div>

    Still here and still fabulous!

  • I totally missed the boat on the LOTR movies. I absolutely love them now, but I didn't see them until long after everyone else.

  • Tiger: Oh NO! You HAVE to watch them all! Which haven't you seen?

Beth: I've actually never seen any of them. This makes me want to do a spinoff thread.

  • Tiger: If you've read the books, you can skip OotP and HBP because the films will just frustrate you. At least, they frustrated me because they left out key moments (OotP) and my favorite parts (HBP).

Disagree. Even though they left out some stuff (which ALL the movies did) and there were some frustrating parts I really enjoyed both of those movies and would never suggest anyone just skip them.

  • I think the movies did the best they could without being 4 hours :)

I watched the first Twilight, and it's one of the FEW movies I've actually SAT THROUGH the whole thing, and after it ended I was like, whaaat just happened? I don't remember? -- not very memorable.

I just recently saw Pulp Fiction.

<div>True to a point. I think that the only way you could watch the last 3-4 movies and understand them is if you had read the books. I think that movies should be able to stand on their own and not require knowledge of the story in advance.</div>
  • The only thing I can think of that no one else has said is Evil Dead, the original movies. BF had me watch Evil Dead II, claiming it was funnier and more gory than the first.

BF and I are going to see the new Evil Dead remake tonight at the movie theater. I will be watching through my fingers the entire time. I love scary movies but NOT when they're so gory! There's a reason I didn't become a doctor, besides not being smart enough, is the blood and guts. *shudders*
