DC/ ceremony md reception??

Ok here is the question my soon to be father in law is the Imam (muslim Preacher) in D.C and will be officiating our wedding ceremony. My fi wants to have the wedding and reception at his mosque in dc where he was raised. I want to have in it Columbia MD where the reception hall is. Would it be too far to drive for guest going from D.C to columbia MD? Should we just have eveything in Columbia??

    There is a mosque in Columbia, right on Rt. 108. Could you have the ceremony there?

    The drive from downtown DC to Columbia is 45 minutes, provided there are no traffic issues coming through Silver Spring and up Rt. 29. Realistically, it's a 1 hour to 1:15 drive. To me, that's too much driving in between the ceremony and reception space because I just don't trust traffic in this area.

    I think it's a bit far given how tempermental the traffic is in the DMV.
