barn wedding (Raleigh)

Hello!  I was wondering if you guys new of any great barn or ranch venues in the Raleigh or Harnett County area for wedding receptions that dont charge an arm and a leg.  Thanks for all the help!

Let me know if you find one...I didn't have any luck and I searched high and low. I guess my problem was I wanted a "nice" barn that was inexpensive. The Barn at Valhalla is a nice space but it wasn't big enough for us.

Have you tried the Angus Barn Pavillion?

Have you tried Fearrington Village?  I imagine they could be pricey, but I don't know offhand.  I've heard good things about Snipes Farm too-- right outside of Chapel HIll/Carrboro.

I was going to suggest Snipes Farm too, I haven't been there but in doing research for my wedding I cam across it. It's too far east for us though. Doing research to find a barn venue or any unique venue is hard, I just went through that. I found that looking at photrapher's websites helped to find some unique venues that are not listed other places. We're getting married at The Hayloft, it's in McLeansville so that probably doesn't help you much.

Fearrington and the Angus Barn are both AMAZING but INSANELY expensive (I mean insanely expensive). I would have loved to have my wedding at either of these places but there was just no way. Neither of them even lets you bring your own wedding cake and Fearrington doesn't even let you bring your own flowers (which drives your bill up astronomically when they can charge whatever they please). I think the prices for venues in Raleigh is ridiculous (if you're looking for something different which I was too). Supply and demand I guess?

The Barn at Valhalla is the only one I know of (besides the really REALLY expensive ones). Have you thought about looking in nearby places (Cary, Durham?)

<div>I don't know if you have received an answer yet but the actual cost to rent the facility is not the issue- they require that you use their caterer which is about $70-80 a person!</div>
