Marriage License Question

Hi Ladies!  So I know you have a 60 day window for the marriage license to be valid.  But I was wondering how long does it usually take to get it when applying in Orlando.  FI and I are in Jacksonville and just assumed that the Duval license won't be valid in Orlando and surrounding area.  So just trying to figure out how long we'd need to be in the area.

Thanks!

Re: Marriage License Question

I thought the marriage license was valid in all of FL, but I might be wrong.
I do know that if you didnt do any premarital counseling (you have to bring your completion letter with you) you have a 3 day waiting period before your license is valid. If you did do the counseling it is valid that day.

They give you the license before you leave, so it only really depends on if you have had premarital counseling and a letter to prove it (valid immediately), or if you haven't (then you wait the 3 days).

I got our marriage license in Miami and we were married in Orlando, so you should be fine!

I live on the West coast so I called Bevard County because I assumed that I needed to get it there and they said you can get it anywhere in Florida and it is valid all over the state. No need for another trip!

we just got ours two days ago.  When we went, we were the only people there. It took about twenty minutes.  We had to have photo ID and 61 dollars in cash. They only accept cash and nothing else.  We printed out the forms online and filled them out beforehand so it wouldn't take as much time.  Then she gave us our marriage license right there. They don't mail it to you or anything.  If you didn't do a premarital class, you have a three day waiting period before it is active so don't wait too long to get it.  Also, you'd have to pay ninety some dollars if there is no premarital counseling.
