spray tan

I did a spray tan yesterday for the first time, probably not my best idea, for my friends wedding on Saturday and my hands look terrible. I haven't checked the rest yet because I am at work, but you can see the lines on my hands and it just looks really bad. Will that go away and even out after I shower?

Re: spray tan

  • A shower wont take off a spray tan, especially if it was done yesterday. But a pool will. Do you have acces to a pool? Otherwise lemon juice and a loofah should be able to help even out your hands.

  • I always showered the day after a spray tan and a LOT of the excess did wash off. The color was definitely still there but it evened out a lot of places where it was uneven. So I would try a shower first and then use the lemon juice and loofah if it didn't take care of it completely.

  • I'm assuming you haven't showered yet, wait to see what it looks like after a shower & moisturizing. It will probably look more even and the body lotion will help it to last longer & fade more evenly too.
  • Hi!

I am a makeup artist that specializes in bridal application in Houston, TX. I also do airbrush sunless tanning and I realize that my post is a little late for your occasion, but next time if this happens, let the tan completely absorb. You can usually shower after 6 hours and baby oil and a light scrub should do the trick!

I hope this helps and please feel free to contact me with any other questions!

  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice 1/2 cup of salt and scrub your hands, next time you get a spray tan make sure you put barrier cream on your palms and in between your fingers and on the top of your nails you also wanna do the same thing for your feet, the key to the perfect spray tan is when you are face fowward put your hands vertically up and down facing the sprayers and when you are facing away make sure you make your hands flat like you are laying them on a counter so that way you don't have lines across your wrist :)

Your welcome!! I work for a tanning salon so I totally get the first spray tan jitter questions all the time ha ha let me know how it turns out!!
  • I would love to do the spray tan thing but I am so worried that it won't turn out correctly that I am probably just going to go with a bronzing lotion instead. I just know I have had past experience with bad self tanning and am not sure if our local little podunk tanning salon will do it right. Not wanting to look strange or fake orange in my wedding dress! That being said does anyone have any ideas of a good bronzing lotion? Thank you ladies! I marry in 3 DAYS!! :)
    Cool
