Question about registries

I was just wondering what times during the whole process did you ladies started seeing activity on your registries (ie: people buying things from them). I lurked a little & was thinking that soon after the shower invites went out, I could expect some activity. Was this the case for you?

    Many people purchase gifts for showers last minute or even the day of the shower. I know ours got a lot of activity the week of my shower and the week right before the wedding.

    I wasn't even finished finalizing my registry and 3 things had already been bought.

    My shower is in 2 weeks and I got a lot of activity right when the invites were received, biut now it is dying down a lil. Also, I got gifts from people who aren't invited to the shower so that was a total surprise.

    I'll admit, I registry stalk... and I do get excited when I receive something new but also feel super guilty b/c I know others need these things more.

    Yes, that was the case for us. Once the invitations for our first shower went out, gifts started being purchased every few days.

    Thanks ladies! My shower is at the end of this month, so I guess I still have a while. My invites went out like 2 weeks ago & nothing has been purchased yet, so I wasnt sure.

    We ended up recieving a ton of gifts from our registry that were showing up as not purchased. It was a nice surprise : )

    The vast majority of our activity has happened in the last 2-3 weeks for us.  We got all our bedding, several serving pieces of china, our pots and pans, etc. in this the last 5 days or so.

    I've noticed a lot have been purchased and my shower isn't until April 20th. I think some people just like to shop early and get it out of the way so they can pick exactly what they want, and others prefer to do it last minute because they have other things going on.

    I don't believe my shower has been planned yet.  My area likes suprises so I don't know for sure though.  We saw a couple small things go off our registry shortly after we set it up a few months ago, because my FI's cousin sent a gift to tell us how excited she was for the wedding.  Then about a month ago some everyday serveware, most of our everyday place settings, and our Kitchenaid were bought!  Macy's was running a pretty good sale at the time.  Nothing has been bought since.

    We got our first gift yesterday!I couldn't believe it! My shower isn't until June and I'm pretty sure only VIPs know about it at this point. It was such a nice surprise.
