Top layer of the cake?

How many of you ladies actually saved the top of your cake for your 1st anniversary? I ask because I want to do cupcakes with a small top cake but would it be wrong if we used that to cut or should be just cut a cupcake? Totally confused!

  • We didn't save ours.   Kind-of hard to because we our wedding was a DW.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • We didn't.  Out baker made us an anniversary cake for our first anniversary.

  • We didn't save ours. We ate our leftover cake within a week of gettting back from our honeymoon.

We haven't talked about this yet.  I think we need to see how many people RSVP, and if we'll have enough cake to spare.  My guess is we will.  I hope we do save it, because I think it would be very cool to have that as an anniversary treat.

Of course, now that I think of it, this part of Washington D.C./The Mid-Atlantic is notorious for power outages in the summer....hm.....random power outage cake party?  hmmmmmm

    mmmmmm
