Coffee Pot tastes weird....

We got a new coffee pot off our registry, yes we are using it because ours broke and yes we are prepared to buy a new one and return it if the wedding goes to hell in a hand basket. 

I followed the instructions, cleaned it twice.  The coffee still tastes....like chlorine.  It has these filters in there that are supposed to make it taste better, but I think it tastes worse.  It's the cuisinart coffee pot that has a seperate hot water dispenser, any help ladies?  Anyone else have this issue?

    I'll try that.  I soaked the filters like they said to and they recommended two flush throughs of water, did that.  Still tastes like funk in my cup.  I usually clean the coffee pot with vinegar, just figured it shouldn't still have a weird chemical taste in my coffee.

    Yep on the vinegar. And you will need to do that again from time to time if you notice a funny taste or notice it is not producing a full pot. 
    What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

    Do you use paper filters in it?  If so, make sure they're unbleached.  Bleached ones may have had chlorine bleach on them.

    yes they are paper but they are unbleached!  Thanks ladies, the vinegar worked like a champ!  I just didn't think I'd need to use vinegar on a new pot, I usually clean with vinegar occasionally!  Thanks for the help!
