Oldies live band?

As an alternative to a DJ we are thinking of a band.  We think oldies would be something that everyone could dance to (young and old).  Anyone have a great experience with an oldies band or maybe a top notch cover band?

</div><div>I don't get the chance to check out too many dance bands, but in Columbus,. the Reaganomics are fun if you like 80s oldies, and Lt. Dan's New Legs are fun if you like Black Eyed PEas.</div><div>

  • donethat > thanks!! :-)

Any other suggestions?  I was hoping a little more oldies... 40s-60s
  • Ha Ha!  Yep 40s - 60s is for sure "oldier"  than 80s!

  • donethat > great suggestion!  Thanks!
  • There is an group that plays a lot of the late 40s, 50s and 60s stuff; Frank Sinatra, Jack Jones, Tony Bennett and Vic Damone..  The main singer is Brian Smith.  Here is a link to his website...

If that isn't what you're looking for, there is another band I know of that plays out at Buckeye Lake a lot and they are always VERY entertaining... I think they do more 60's rock but it's great.  They are called the Paul Clark Party Band.

    Good luck!
  • ekg118 > Thanks!  They look good, I will see if they are available.  Lots of bands are already booked.
  • Hi there, sebmarietta!

I'm not sure if you've already booked a band yet, but I wanted to recommend Capital Sound. They're a 9-piece R&B/Soul band from Columbus. I have been to a couple wedding receptions that they played and everyone had a blast and were dancing all night!  They had a really good mix of music, I think they may be just what you're looking for. Their website is www.capitalsoundband.com

    Best Wishes!  :)
