Candy Buffet and Dinner Ideas?

Should we use all glass containers for our candy buffet or would the hard plastic ones from Dollar Tree be ok they are sort of decorative? The lighting at our reception will be dim and this is a party favor for our guests as they leave. Will they notice the containers if the table set up is good?

We are thinking of offering a Fajita Bar with choice of chicken or beef as well as meat lasagna, and Beef Brisket with baked beans, mashed potatoes, vegetables and rolls. What do you think of these choices? Should we offer a chicken of some sort and drop one of the others? The caterer has a Hawaiian Chicken.

Re: Candy Buffet and Dinner Ideas?

  • Plastic candy dishes are fine. Your dinner options confuse me, though. Mexican, Italian, and Southern food all at one meal? And you're considering adding Hawaiian? I think you should pick one style of cooking and have all your entrees and sides fit that. And don't forget a vegetarian/vegan option.

I think a meat lasagna, a cheese/spinach lasagna, side salad, steamed mixed veggies, Italian dinner rolls would be easy and awesome.

You could also add an unbreaded Italian style chicken breast entree in case any of your guests are gluten free, prefer not to eat carbs/dairy, or want low-fat.
